We marched with hundreds of hotel workers of @unitehere who are in contract negotiations with massively lucrative #SF hotel chains that will not give their workers a contract with fair wages. Message: “One Job Should be Enough” It’s NOT - and #Janus makes their lives harder. 2/
Both the hotel workers and the teachers said the same thing: Donald Trump’s #SCOTUS sided with corporate bosses over workers, first denying protections against #sexualharassment and today denying voices in the job in #Janus. By design, TRUMP’S COURT IS HURTING WORKING PEOPLE. 3/
As we marched we talked about how much damage Trump is doing to America - to our liberties, our dignity, our communities. “Act Up, Fight Back” shouted #lgbtq legend @CleveJones1 - as he as for decades - adding “I’m too old to still be protesting this sh*t but here we are” 4/
We discussed a MESSAGE to fight Trump’s Court packing scheme. Should we say “a Man under investigation should not appoint a Justice to rule on his fate?” While TRUE, will people rally around “he’s not above the Law & can’t pick his Justice ?” 5/ TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org
What about “the McConnell Rule” - “don’t pick a #SCOTUS Justice in an election year; let the people speak” because that worked for Republicans and their #StolenSeat snatched from President Obama. Does anyone care about Republicans breaking rules? <Maybe> in DC. 6/
Well as tempting as it was to throw McConnell’s hypocrisy back at him, we decided we were just Democrats being Democrats, waiting for a referee ex machina descending to blow the whistle and say “#Trump’s not fair.” Sadly, no referee is coming and if she did, #TrumpDontCare! 7/
