Russian-linked accounts are back to pushing the smear campaign against the #WhiteHelmets (@SyriaCivilDef). It's been the top hashtag among accounts linked to Russian influence operations for 36+ hours now, per @SecureDemocracy's Hamilton 68 dashboard.

Here are some of the most influential accounts tweeting about the #WhiteHelmets on Sunday.

Today (Monday), Russian propaganda outlet RT really stood out among the most influential accounts tweeting about the #WhiteHelmets. Naturally, they're calling the rescue workers terrorists and deep state plants.

"No evidence of altruism" among the rescue workers who risk their lives in a war zone, says the "journalist" not in a war zone.

Aaaand here's someone calling for "Nuremberg war crimes trial" to prosecute the #WhiteHelmets. No word on whether they want to prosecute, you know, actual war criminals like Assad and Putin.

"Russia didn't invade Ukraine, Tucker Carlson is news, Julian Assange is a freedom-fighting hero, and the White Helmets are jihadist-linked regime changers." .... (she's serious, too).

These are the top links shared (per 100 tweets) by people tweeting the hashtag #WhiteHelmets. Half are straight-up Russian propaganda channels.

If you're unfamiliar w/ the smear campaign against the #WhiteHelmets, this article lays out the context.

In short, it's not b/c of their rescue work. It's b/c they witness & document war crimes and other atrocities carried out by Russian/Syrian forces.
