1/ Thread - New Hampshire is 94% White

What's wrong with that?

2/ Of course, the article is behind a paywall, which I am sure is somehow racist.

If you want a #quickrundown, you can find it here:

3/ The real underlying issues are related to population dynamics - an ageing workforce approaching retirement age requires more young workers to keep the social safety net (ponzi scheme) going.

But, the failing New York Times decides to blame it on race.

4/ New Hampshire seems to have a lot of positive social indicators going for it. I'll tweet out a few graphs from this link:

towncharts.com/New-Hampshire/…

5/ New Hampshire seems to be a strong "Family" state. Families make up a higher % of households compared with the national average.

Cultural Marxists hate the idea of strong nuclear families, which is probably why New Hampshire is slated for some "cultural enrichment".

6/ New Hampshire seems to have a strong nuclear family structure.

Mom and Dad households are more plentiful than the national average.

Teenager birth rate and unwed mothers are lower than average.

% of people on public assistance is lower.

7/ But there is one cylinder New Hampshire is not firing on, demographically, and that's family size, which in turn translates to slower than average population growth.

Without population growth, who will support all the ageing Boomers in New Hampshire?

8/ These folks are going to need someone to help them get up when they fall. Someone is going to have to repair their scooters. Someone is going to have to mow their lawn and sell them their medication. Job growth is going to center around the "care" industries.

9/ This is why the headline is racist - it's reminding non-European peoples that they need to get their asses to NEw Hampshire and care for these ageing Boomers. They need non-whites to tend to their gardens, repair their motorized wheelchairs and drive them to Wal-Mart.

10/ In a way, New Hampshire did this to themselves: Low population growth coupled with smaller family sizes means the replacement rate of births is not keeping up with the death rate, so over time, the average age of the population grows older.

10/ This is going to come as a shock to the #diversityisourstrength crowd, but I want you to bookmark or download this study for further reference:

E Pluribus Unum: Diversity and Community in the Twenty-first Century
The 2006 Johan Skytte Prize Lecture

citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/downlo…

11/ It was published in the Scandinavian Journal of Political Studies back in 2007, and it's a lecture by Robert D Putnam, who is definitely not a 3rd-tier academic.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_D.…

Overall, I'd say he's pretty good at what he does.

12/ Putnam is observing a broader trend across all societies: Increased heterogeneity, or "diversity", and he wonders how this trend impacts key cultural variables:

- Reciprocity
- Trust
- Social networks
- Social capital

13/ Progressives are into the idea that the more contact one has with people of other ethnicities, the more inclined they are to overcome their initial hesitation and overcome barriers. This is known as the "contact theory" of integration.

14/ In theory, that feels nice - a wonderful world where everyone gets along with people from other tribes. It hits you right where progressives want to hit you - in the feels.

However, empirical studies have supported the opposite - the "conflict theory" of integration.

15/ In addition to being 94% white with strong family values, New Hampshire has:

- The 3rd lowest rate of gun crime in the country
- A vibrant gun culture
- A relatively lax restrictions on firearms ownership.

nhpr.org/post/gun-crime…

Democrats want to change that.

16/ Diversity and inclusion are progressive code words for #weaponizedmigration .

Greater ethnic heterogeneity (diversity) yields the following:

LOWER
- group cohesion
- social trust
- investment in public goods
- social capital

17/ #Weaponizedmigration serves to break down the social bonds of trust, cohesion and social capital.

A decline in trust leads to more violence, rapes, robberies and negative social indicators.

If you object to this progress, you'll be called a racist/bigot/nazi.

18/ This slide is the most surprising, jaw-dropping part of Putnam's 2006 lecture.

Even though New Hampshire is 94% white, it ranks very high in terms of "trusting other races".

19/ Putnam's data hows that towns and states where people are homogeneous (all white, all hispanic or all black), they tend to trust other races MORE than what one finds in Diversity hot spots like San Francisco.

20/ Putnam then looks at "trust in other races" minus "trust in my neighbors". Since neighbors are typically of a similar racial makeup, trust in neighbors is a proxy for trust in my own race.

When Putnam does this, the correlation breaks down.

21/ What does this breakdown of correlation mean? It means neither the conflict or the contact theory explain things well.

Instead, Putnam posits the "Constrict Theory", which is a sort of "hunkering down" brought about due to social isolation.

22/ Continue reading the article, there are quite a few redpill items in there. One stood out to me: "We need something to do one day a week that doesn't revolve around our ethnic identities".

These could include:

- Sports
- Church
- Other social gatherings.

23/ Putnam shares one personal anecdote regarding the role of Evangelical megachurches when it comes to de-segregation. Sunday at 11:00 AM, he observes, used to be the most racially segregated hour of the week. Now, that is changing.

24/ The second observation really activated my almonds: Socialists were pro-American flag worship, because it allowed one to be a good American (civic nationalism) regardless of their ethnic identity (Non-WASP Immigrant).

TFW the Pledge of Allegiance is a Commie Conspiracy

25/ At the end of the paper, Putnam remains decidedly in the middle. On one hand he cautions progressives against denying the difficulties brought about by diversity, while at the same time cautioning conservatives from denying that many immigrants WANT to integrate.

26/ If I was an immigrant who wanted to learn English and bring my best to America, I wouldn't move to diversity enclaves like San Francisco or New York.

I'd move to states like South Dakota, Wyoming or up towards New England.

27/ But for some reason, I feel like the modus operandi of the progressives will be to create a large and rapid influx of migrants in order to:

- Burden the public purse
- Wear down trust and reciprocity
- Weaponize migration to impact voter rolls

28/ The Progressives seem to enjoy fostering this "hunker down" culture because then they can offer more big government solutions to solve the problems they helped create in the first place.
