There is this special feature in my book #AfricanCloudCuckooLand that chronicled my consultancy in the region of crisis management, which aligned my path with Distinguished Honorable @alouibrahim92 in 2014. Here is a short story. @APCNigeria @MBuhari #HarmonyNG
I knew this honorable in the line of duty during Chibok Negotiation while he was the Chairman, house committee on internal security. We didn’t meet physically until last quarter of 2014 as introduced to me by a mutual friend before becoming my twin on a mission for #NewNigeria
A die hard CPC member until we were consulted to merge their treasured party with APC in 2013. No doubt we have our pockets of differences as much as we have similarities but our common ground remain the legacy we hope to leave behind for our loved ones and children.
The quest for a just and egalitarian society has been a major plank of the social-political ideology shared by us both. Unlike me, he debuted his leadership via political office between 2011-2015 at the 7th Assembly as House Committee Chair for Internal Security with other stars.
His mission had been clear for many years as identified as the total liberation of his people from the shackles of poverty, hunger, homelessness, disease and illiteracy. His Perspicacity trumps mine with direct experience of how perpetual aspirants & politicos perversely oppress
...pauperize, intimidate the citizenry with their position of power. Thus, the Bauchi-born leader was impassioned in his defence of the rights of the people and his disavowal of absolutist and despotic display of federal or state power to the detriment of the masses. #HarmonyNG
There’re many things we share in common & there’re things we’ve resolved to differ on. He’s a professional consultant cum Politician but I’m not a Politician. He’s a Buharist (Intelligent Version) but I have no favorite. We respect each other & never strive to change one another
As a Rep, he dug 2 motorized boreholes in each of his 20 wards. They still exist. He provided more than 300 solar streetlamps for places that were too dark to enhance security. He brought the NSCDC training institute as well as the the ZonalPrison/FireService for the NE to Bauchi
204 citizens benefitted from this with gainful employment into civil defense, prison service & Federal Fire Service. He has survived 2 major assassination attempts but still very resolute on National security. 20wards also got 500KVA transformers in his constituency on his behest
2000 citizens successfully benefitted from his eye surgery drive, 500 scholarships up to university level for students, 350 laptops to ATBU/FedPoly & 150 to StatePoly respectively. There’s also 250 desktop, 50kva generator supply & an ICT centre to HUK College, his ALMA mater.
There are many more things he made happen but our shared ideology transcends socialism. It is more about raising a critical mass of new generational leaders. He was known as a star in the 7th Assembly and made quite a lot of enemies, who were relentless on the plot to ruin him.😇
That is politics for you...I warned him but his heart was in the right place based on his unique wiring. Of all his feats what impresses me the most would be his international recognition and expertise. He’s an IVLP Alumnus and Also an Alumnus of ACSS.
He is a Permanent resource person for IPI, FLINTLOCK SLS, resource person for SILENT WARRIOR at AFRICOM, board member of Savannah centre for democracy, development & good governance, resource person for SO15, National Coordinator GON USG Security Givernance Initiative.
These are verifiable achievements I can vouch for in the know. He encouraged me on the fight for #NIS2000 despite the fact that it seemed at the time it was a challenge of the administration he regards & served in. He’s always been objective and humane regardless.
There are many initiatives he championed for the cause of a greater Nigeria including the design of a proposal for the security architecture of the Ministry Of Interior. He is renowned home and abroad for his clarity and impeccable intelligence.
As brothers we initiated many humanitarian advocacies from #CaravanOfHope (feeding IDPs), to #HeartWheelsFoundation (grant of wheel chairs to disables) amongst others (Almanjiri initiative and contribution to PINE initiative before it became exclusive to the Presidency).
There is no better person to be a geek with than Hon Aliyu Ibrahim Gebi. Our mutual friends at the international community would agree that no one is as passionate on the enhancement of public safety and security as he has consistently demonstrated.
His loyalty to causes and friendship knows no bound. Despite the open window season with people flying from one party to another, he has remained consistent to a fault in APC. He dropped his aspiration for Senate & still wished to serve his people regardless at the House.
My reservation for the APC as a can not be overemphasized but I insist on ignorinag the acronyms and notoriety of group minds in the political space to focus my attention on COMPETENCY and CREDIBILITY. Do help me take the message to town that Bauchi deserves better representation
If he fails to deliver, I will be first to call him out. I have been to Bauchi on official assignment and my heart breaks each time. I have travelled the dangerous routes with the honorable even before we knew each other better. He can be trusted and he listens to good counsel.
There are several other young, capable and credible people running and I will do the same for them, especially those whose path have crossed mine in the line of duty. There are many more things I could have shared but for executive privilege. Spread the word. #HarmonyNG
The depth of our advocacy will require more interactions with the National Assembly, and the earlier we recognize the importance of filling those seats with credible, intelligent, passionate and competent Patriots the better. I will keep recommending in the know. #HarmonyNG
This is the Honorable Aliyu Ibrahim Gebi That I know. Look out for him and compare his feats and capability with other options then decide who represents the future you hope to bequeath to your children. The decision is always yours to make. I’m only educating. #HarmonyNG
End Of Celestial Observation and Happy Eid to you All.
