Let's take a look at Ronald Jones #Buccaneers film and put some context to his box score. 1st of 12 runs. 12 personnel vs 8 man front. Good read on the backer play side. Picks up a 1st down.

Ronald Jones 2nd of 12 runs. Heavy goal line set. 22 vs 9/10 man front. No blocking.

Ronald Jones 3rd of 12 runs. Heavy goal line set again. Great block by the fullback. Quick decisive cut by Jones for the TD.

Ronald Jones 4th of 12 runs. 11 personnel vs 7 man box. First potential tackle point 3 yards behind line of scrimmage. Jones avoids the tackler and makes it back to the line.

Ronald Jones 5th of 12 runs. 11 personnel vs 7 man box again. Horrific backside blocking leads to another initial potential tackle point of 3 yards behind line of scrimmage.

Ronald Jones 6th of 12 runs. 3rd and 25. Give up draw trying to make it to halftime and the right tackle doesn't even try. Defender is on Jones shortly after handoff.

Ronald Jones 7th of 12 runs. Last play of the half. If you want to nitpick and say he should have cut left I won't fight you.

Ronald Jones 8th of 12 runs. 21 personnel vs 7 man box. First Even TrueBox we have had since the TD. Oline gives him nothing.

Ronald Jones 9th of 12 runs. Moving on to the Titans game. Get ready for more of the same. 21 personnel vs 7 man front. First initial tackle point is at line of scrimmage. Sound like a theme yet?

Ronald Jones 10th of 12 runs. 21 personnel vs 7 man front. Are we sure Peyton Barber isn't playing guard to sabotage him at this point? 2 yard loss...on the oline.

Ronald Jones 11th of 12 runs. 21 vs 7 for the 3rd time in a row. Titans were fine playing even front. Wait what's this? A play he gets past the line of scrimmage without being touched. Hallelujah!

Ronald Jones 12th of 12 runs. 11 personnel vs 7 man front. Safety is flying to the run on snap. Might have had something here if he didn't but what fun would that be?

Ronald Jones TrueBox for his 12 rush attempts. As ridiculous as it is to look at 12 carries I'll use it to knock my preseason rust off. TrueBox takes the Defenders in the box and subtracts the Blockers. +1 TrueBox means 1 extra unaccounted for defender.

Ronald Jones PTP numbers through 12 carries. PTP stands for Potential Tackle Point. I generally view yards BEFORE PTP as an Oline stat.

So a few of my takeaways. His 2 pass attempts should have been caught. Both were on him. Has to improve here. I'm lower on his early season production that I was and could see him being phased in as the season moves along. He was my rookie RB2 and that won't change based on film.
