Let's see how #WhatsApp is encrypting your attachments 1/n
In a #WhatsApp conversation, I sent a TTF file 2/n
In my phone, this TTF file is stored in the sdcard. To be precise here: /sdcard/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Documents/Action_Man.enc 3/n
#WhatsApp changed the extension of our TTF file to enc, so I guess the file is encrypted, right? 4/n
Let's pull this file from the device 5/n
Wait a minute, the file command returns "TrueType font data", I thought it was encrypted... 6/n
Let's change the extension of the file from enc to ttf 7/n
And if you click on it, I can install the new font 8/n
Conclusion: WhatsApp attachment encryption = change the extension to enc 9/9
