The September 10 press briefing with @PressSec has started. Follow me for a video thread.

.@WhiteHouseCEA is filibustering, giving Trump credit for every bit of good economic news that's occurred since November 2016

HASSETT: "What will historians think when they look back at this time? I can promise you that economic historians will 100% accept the fact there was an inflection at the election of Donald Trump, and a whole bunch of data items started heading north."

LOL! After giving Trump credit for each and every bit of good economic news that's happened over the last two years, Hassett declines to give Obama credit for anything, explaining that he "prefers to give blame or credit to policies rather than individuals." #BeyondParody

REPORTER: The president put out a statement that said GDP growth is higher than the unemployment rate for the first time in over 100 years. That's false. He also fabricated a quote from Obama. Your thoughts?

HASSETT: Well, I'm not Chairman of the Counsel of Twitter advisers!

REPORTER: You say you want to give credit to policies and not individuals, and yet you've done nothing but give Trump credit. What gives?

HASSETT: [a bunch of words about a topic totally disconnected from the question]

Sanders attacks the media for being so interested in an op-ed written by an anonymous administration official portraying President Trump as unhinged and unfit to serve

Sanders says Trump recently recently received "a very warm, very positive letter" from Kim Jong Un.

"This letter was further evidence of progress," she adds. #PenPals

REPORTER: Does Trump really think the DOJ should busy itself covering up crimes committed by Republicans, because justice is less important than the GOP keeping power?

SANDERS: "Certainly, the president thinks nobody is above the law." #WarIsPeace

REPORTER: The president has called for the DOJ to investigate the publication of the anonymous NYT op-ed. It clearly does not violate the criminal code in any way. So what gives?

SANDERS: Okay, but the DOJ should still look at it.

REPORTER: .... why?

SANDERS: Because.

REPORTER: Palestinians say the US is no longer an honest broker in the Mideast peace process because the administration has closed down the Palestinian mission here in DC. Your reaction?

SANDERS: Well, we still have a great deal of support with our friend & ally in Israel

Sanders says the Trump administration is breaking with the International Criminal Court because investigating the conduct of American troops in Afghanistan would be "a threat to American sovereignty."

Sanders closes the briefing by asserting that Trump deserves all the credit for the decrease in tensions with North Korea, and China deserves none.

Sanders tried to justify Trump’s demand that DOJ conduct a baseless investigation of the New York Times. It was a disaster. thinkprogress.org/sarah-sanders-…
