It’s 9am. Still windy, but #TyphoonManghkut has passed. Since my THEAD yesterday abt the typhoon went viral, I now would like to show how amazing this city is: efficient, undeterred, hardworking, resilient. Fellow HKers pls feel free to add to this thread! #HKSpirit

People lining up for bus to go to work 12 hours after the worst storm in the world this year hit this city. #HKSpirit

Workers (mostly women) got up early to clean off the debris and fallen brunches to ensure an early recovery for smooth traffic. #HKSpirit

Workers in Kowloon are already busy before the city woke up. #HKSpirit

This Sauden, one of many security guards worked through the typhoon yesterday, lives hours away from mid level, left his own home at 5:30am this morning to be here smiling for a new day. #HKSpirit

This is Sally. She lives upstairs from my friend Ming Chen, woke up early to clean up the mess with a smile. #HKSpirit

Nothing is stopping my amazing friends Ming, @debkhk and Anisha to have a morning run, even if they have to run through the fallen trees! #HKSpirit

Many people walked through the debris and broken brunches in their suits to be back to work this early morning. I’ve lived different places & traveled the world. No other city has such combo of efficiency & work ethics. HK people are undeterred. I ❤️ HK. #HKSpirit
