John McDonnell plays down his previous remarks on direct action against MPs - adding that he "totally" condemns what happened to JRM's children last week. #mumsnet

Shadow chancellor now defends employing Jeremy Corbyn's son: "He was appointed on merit and I regret the level of abuse he's received just because of his surname."

McDonnell repeats his line that (1) Labour wants a general election for people to express their view on Theresa May's Brexit deal and (2) if that doesn't happen, a people's vote remains "on the table".

John McDonnell totally owns the #mumsnet biscuit question. "My Mum worked behind the biscuit counter in BHS and we lived off broken biscuits, in particular rich tea." His preparedness for this says it all. Jeremy Corbyn take note.
