lol what. This should be an interesting read (thanks @ksouth21 for tagging me)
Anonymous sources, but the McCabe memos he has been telegraphing are clearly part of it.
If this is all McCabe memos and nothing else then this should be taken as his vow to "burn everyone down" with him.
"Though he did tell Mr. McCabe that he might be able to persuade Attorney General Jeff Sessions and John F. Kelly, then the secretary of homeland security and now the White House chief of staff, to mount an effort to invoke the 25th Amendment."
YEP. McCabe is the source of this
The New York Times telling us how they can read minds again:
"The extreme suggestions show Mr. Rosenstein’s state of mind in the disorienting days that followed Mr. Comey’s dismissal."
"Mr. Rosenstein had an up-close view of the tumult. Mr. Rosenstein appeared conflicted, regretful and emotional, according to people who spoke with him at the time."
This is awful reporting and the NYT always does this. Always. "He looked upset said someone anonymously"
Also don't discount that some of this is coming from anti-Rosenstein forces in the GOP. The GOP is furious with Rosenstein and I bet they are even more furious if he is advising President Trump not to redact and declassify (which I'm sure he did, he always does that)
"But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.”
There ya go. The NYT is full of it and pushing partisan agenda's using anonymous sourcing and McCabe who is under investigation by a grand jury
lol ok so this is nuts. Rod Rosenstein shouldn't have even been joking about wearing a wire. That's some insane stuff. If a DOJ Spokeswoman provided that statement saying it's true but it was a joke that's big.
That is not a joke. That's insane.
If any part of this is true then Rosenstein is going to be fired before the end of the day. #FudgeRule this because like always the NYT is putting facts in the middle of narrative spin and anonymous sources with legitimate ones.
McCabe pretended he didn't comment on this or tell people too lol. His lawyer says he has no clue how it leaked to the media but the FBI and Mueller had copies of i t.
The FBI/Mueller probably don't want to watch Trump fire Rosenstein so I'm calling BS lol. GOP, McCabe, or both
Rosenstein was gung ho about firing Comey lol.
Then he met with Andrew McCabe (there's that name again) and 4 other senior DOJ officials to explain the situation.
If any of this is true Rosenstein is going to be fired immediately. What happens next to Rosenstein is how we will figure out exactly what's real there. Apparently one other person at least was there and has given a statement through a DOJ spokeswoman so it can be verified easy
"White House officials never checked his phone when he arrived for meetings there, Mr. Rosenstein added, implying it would be easy to secretly record Mr. Trump."
Absolute insanity if true. Absolutely nuts if true.
"In the end, the idea went nowhere" irrelevant if it was actually an idea in the first place a Deputy AG had about the President of the United States of America.
"But they called Mr. Rosenstein’s comments an example of how erratically he was behaving"
These people want RR fired
"Merely conducting a straw poll, even if Mr. Kelly and Mr. Sessions were on board, would be risky if another administration official were to tell the president, who could fire everyone involved to end the effort."
These people want Sessions and Kelly fired for this too.
"None of the people interviewed said that they knew of him ever consulting Mr. Kelly or Mr. Sessions."
So go ahead and just ignore that part of the story as bs
"The episode is the first known instance of a named senior administration official weighing the 25th Amendment. "
No it isn't, Rod Rosenstein emphatically denied that part.
McCabe's memos again. "Mr. Rosenstein was upset and emotional" jeez lol.
McCabe is full of bs so these memos are probably along the lines of Comeys.
"Mr. Rosenstein also asked F.B.I. officials on May 14, five days after Mr. Comey’s firing, about calling him for advice about a special counsel."
If this is true too this is absolutely insane too. This is a crazy article. There is a lot of stuff in here
This article is absolutely meant for the President's eyes and to try to convince him to fire Rod Rosenstein.
And the New York Times helpfully reminds us who wants Rod Rosenstein to be fired. The GOP.
"The Justice Department denied a request in late July from Mr. Trump’s congressional allies to release Mr. McCabe’s memos"
And there's their motive, Rod Rosenstein denied the GOP request to release McCabes memos and here they are in the New York Times today
Final thoughts. This is really crazy stuff. #FudgeRule this but as far as I can tell this looks to be at least half true. The DOJ spokeswoman saying he joked about wearing a wire is massive. The rest is McCabes memos and denials and media spin.
Watch what Trump does next /end
