The thing that puzzles me.
The companies that permitted- even fostered- the environment that let the worst faction of Gamergate morph into the so-called Alt-right?
Now want to stop it?
Nope. Please try again.
We're meant to believe that Facebook is so very sorry for fake news spreading on its platform?
When they knew they could change our mood with their algorithm?

We're supposed to believe Twitter wants to ban Nazis & other abusive users.
Some of us have been complaining about this for 10/11 years.
There👏🏾 are👏🏾 now👏🏾 MORE👏🏾 Nazis👏🏾 here.
Not just by numbers, by ratio.
It may be a hard solution technically? But it's not to add specific language in your Ts & Cs that you
1- won't have them and
2- reserve to suspend their accounts for reason to investigate and ban them at your discretion.
We're supposed to believe that Google is blameless for allowing that content to be discovered?
One line in your terms of service and clearer, stronger ejection rules is all it takes.
They already have human oversight to help them make money.
I'm all for benefit of the doubt. FB used to be my favorite site. Now I go there 2/3 times a month for less than an hour.
If they're so concerned about the negative impact they had? What took them so long to answer?
Why aren't they consulting with the affected people?
Why do most of the customer service and feedback channels still suck?
I'm disgusted by this performative feigned mea culpa. "We're sorry but not fixing anything.
"Or taking any responsibility. Or shutting down until we can do better.
"Or trying the smallest possible gesture to make things better.
"Or apologizing to any non-celebs." FOH
I'm patiently waiting for the honor of paying to be on @AdrianCJax's proposed solution.
I'll lose my followers if I completely quit.
But really I was here at the beginning of all these things. So I can rebuild my community or reach them elsewhere.
I used to be Ms Benefit of the Doubt. But I while I'm thinking "a big biz moves slower" - they are disbelieving #blackwomen!
They'll ban us for a fraction of faux offenses but allow others to break the law without consequences.
I try to be flippant & not let the BS affect how I roll. But really?
I'm angry.
And I'm very close to figuring out how to lawfully interrupt their profits if they don't start listening.
Coincidentally 😉 the day I send this I noticed a couple of changes on a couple of these networks. Hm. Let's see how well they work.
unroll please.
