1. Slender Man-by Lexy @PoliticallyRYT

In 2014 the 'legend’ of Slenderman drove two 12-year-old girls to try and kill their classmate. They stabbed her 19 times.

Where did Slenderman originate?

2. In 2009 there was a contest to create creepy edits using everyday settings. The internet created a meme from of a photoshopped picture. The meme is known as Slenderman.

3. Slenderman started off as a short story on the internet, in the community forum of a comedy website, Something Awful.

Like any ghost story told repeatedly, over the years the tale got taller, stories scarier, and the Internet more sophisticated.

4. There were media films and video games created using “Slenderman”. From there the legend surrounding it is larger than the actual reality.
So, the real story is that it’s a myth of a myth — intended as a hoax, fueled by humans’ fear of the unknown.

5. It is harmless unless the younger minds who don’t have the capacity to discern reality from fantasy become involved with the “meme”.

In Wisconsin, two 12-year old girls attempted to murder their classmate in order to please “Slender Man”.

6. The police released the horrific crime scene photos showing the blood-soaked clothes from the 2014 stabbing.

7. The photos from the “Slender Man” stabbing case were released since Morgan Geyser, 15, and Anissa Weier, 16, began serving their decades-long sentence in a mental hospital, WISN reported.

8. The girls admitted to stabbing classmate Payton Leutner in order to become Slender Man’s “proxies,” or servants, and protect their families from the fictional character.

Leutner was stabbed 19 times, with one wound just missing her heart by a fraction of an inch.

9. Geyser & Weier had blood splattered clothes despite running into Walmart to clean themselves off. These two girls lured Leutner into a wooded park in Waukesha to carry out the stabbing. Geyser plunged the knife into her sixth-grade classmate as Weier urged her on.

10. Leutner survived the attack by crawling out of the woods to a path where a bicyclist found her. Leutner’s mother said the now-high school freshman has 25 uncomfortable scars on her body.

11. “[Payton is] still red and angry more than three years later. Payton has a lifetime of healing ahead of her,” the mother said, according to WISN.

12. In February of this year, Geyser was ordered to 40 years in a mental hospital after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

13. Weier, who also pleaded guilty to being a party to attempted second-degree intentional homicide, was sentenced last December to 25 years in a mental hospital, the maximum punishment possible.

14. Why is this story not front page news. Why is the internet letting this continue? Democrats are so concerned about #GunControl and not truly worried about the safety of our children. These children were both classified “mentally ill” and yet there was no gun involved.

15. When someone is mentally ill and they want to carry out what is on their minds, they will find any way in which to do so.

Another attack happened a little over a week after this incident.

16. I urge you to keep a close eye on your children and monitor their internet usage. We know Facebook is only concerned about censoring conservatives. They have no real concern for the safety of others.

17. Addendum- Liberals are shouting to raise the age of gun ownership to 22 because they claim under 21 is too young to have the mental capacity to understand the dangers of guns, these kids didn't have the mental capacity to know reality from

18. fantasy at the age of 11 and 12; however, they were old enough to stand trial as adults? How does this make any sense at all?
