An open letter to the family of #OttoWarmbier

I keep thinking of you, while the world keeps chattering about how great peace would be, and how great it is that South Korea and North Korea are shaking hands and taking pictures, your Son, your brother was murdered by this man.

My Mom asked about Otto every week, no joke, she prayed for him, she cried for him like he was her Son and I didn’t totally understand it but I’m also not a mother. I never forgot about Otto though, we even wrote President Obama about him.

When President Trump won I was excited for Otto because it seemed people had forgotten his name, I’m sure that time was horrible for you. When I heard he was coming home I cried with my Mom and finally understood her connection.

Then we all learned the awful truth and it’s impossible to imagine what your family felt, joy that he was coming home was replaced with the tragedy of his passing. We mourned with you.

The truth is, The loss of Otto brought North Korea into the spotlight it should have always been, a place that tortures people a place that killed your Son. We felt rage and I think @realDonaldTrump felt it to, enough was enough with playing nice. So we got tough.

We for once held the hardline, no more playing nice and by the grace of God it seems to have worked but really #OttoWarmbier was critical in getting us here, getting the world here. Your pain, your fight, your faith will never be forgotten.

While I’m sure you cringe hearing Kim Jong-Un is being considered for a prize associated with Peace, please know that #OttoWarmbier will never be forgotten and KJU is no hero, we know that, we are rooting for peace not for the Dictator.

#OttoWarmbier ❤️🕊
