You know when you get a press release to cover a Guinness world record attempt for tallest stack of waffles & expect it to be some big commercial thing & then it's just a guy's house? This is SO MUCH BETTER. Follow along, #Denver! Things might get weird!

There is an official DENVER LAND SURVEYOR here because the dudes needed someone to take an official measurement. THIS IS A SERIOUS OPERATION, YOU GUYS. THERE IS A 3D MEASURING DEVICE IN THE BACKYARD.

Land surveyor Dustin Hoaglin laughed when he heard about his services requested for a waffle record stack measurement but then he figured he had a bunch of fam in town for his son's graduation & decided it sounded GREAT to do this

The waffles get broiled after being made to make the perfect, hardened stacking brick. Just a bunch of friends coming together to make breakfast foods in the name of GREATNESS, what a time to be alive

Just a casual 3-D laser scanner usually used for topography and architectural purposes ready to measure some waffles next to some prime seating

Spencer McCullough, waffle wunderkind, said when he started embarking on his waffle stacking journey, he received a 40 page PDF from Guinness defining what a waffle was. They are using about 50 pounds of mix to make their dreams come true

The record to beat, by the way, is a 51 centimeter stack. Everyone is extremely confident that this will be beat.

WAFFLE DRAMA!! "We're at max capacity for production. WE NEED A BIGGER OVEN." I would say I am stressed but the cool thing about covering something about waffles is that EVERYTHING IS FINE

This is not the official stack because they literally have to use a specially leveled table but THINGS. ARE. HAPPENING. Also! Pancakes are being made because YUM

For your envisioning purposes, this is 23 y/o waffle wunderkind Spencer, and, yes, he has a ponytail and crocs.

In case it wasn't clear, this table has been professionally leveled by a real person whose job it is to professionally level things

Okay so we almost had a complete collapse but things seem to be back in order now, I am about to pass entirely out

THE RECORD IS BROKEN THE RECORD IS BROKEN I REPEAT HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE, THIS IS THE TALLEST STACK OF WAFFLES EVER RECORDED *IN THE WORLD* (without official confirmation from Guinness but with official confirmation from a, uh, measuring tape)

They are still stacking with the added help of a Miller Chill light beer with lime umbrella

Laplante who, as a reminder, knows NO ONE HERE AND JUST SHOWED UP TO CELEBRATE BREAKFAST FOODS, says "My heart has been racing since waffle one hit the table. I want that written on tombstone."

Alright, they have RUN OUT OF WAFFLES at 67 cm. This is the new record!! THEY STACKED UNTIL THEY COULD STACK NO MORE
