I don't know why I get the same screen again. But there is now a button to actually sign up.
Next they want me to enter a password. But the account is already set up (see name and empty avatar at the top right).
[Experiment jump. People don't to this.] Like before it is possible to bypass the onboarding by manually entering the Twitter URL. I didn't even need to set a password. Because they have my mail, I could reset it to get back in.
Back to the normal onboarding. It has a skip button yay
Now I can choose my interests. Default ordering: Football, News, Sport, Web stars, Entertainment, Television, Music, Fashion&Lifestyle, Politics&Government, Radio, Environment&Society, Cities.
I choose some sub-categories.
Now I get a list of accounts suggested to me. Unlike in the past, they aren't checked per default. They aren't sorted by category anymore. They don't fit to my interests from the screen before.
There is a button to follow all.
I don't understand the list.
And I am locked out. Damn.
No phone verification this time.
Next step: notifications.
And done. What? Where are my personalized recommendations? I wanted to know which accounts are suggested at the moment for each category. Was the long list all there is at the moment?
„Who to follow“ isn't a real alternative.
Time to delete the account. Where did the deletion button go? Only deactivation? Is this Facebook?
To make it easier to add the websites of the accounts I follow to @feedly, I wrote a little tool that looks for feeds in your URLs and puts them in an OPML file.
1. Login with your Twitter account 2. Keep the tab open until the download starts* 3. Import the OPML-file with your favorite feed reader 4. Enjoy unfiltered content
* It takes a lot of time, because the tool has to visit every website to search for the feed.
Bonus step: Unfollow feeds that publish too much content you aren't interested in.
Choose the "Twitter Followings" category and sort by stories per month.
Another network of porn spam bots. They get the attention of users by liking and retweeting their Tweets. Pinned Tweet with spam URL. They can be identified through the URLs and phrases they use. All URLs forward to datewith-me1 dot com. @TwitterSupport
I followed to urls, so you don't have to. After datewith-me you get to sexclub6 dot com and from there to wwa.6 dot dating. This seems to be the final location because after singing up you finally get the option to give the spammers money.
