Even within the SBU this was a highly compartmentalized operation, a couple of people only knew details .
Splainer: SBU/ Babchenko say RU services recruited a Ukrainian citizen to hire a contract killer. He hired a military veteran for 30k. The vet informed Ukraine's secret service & collaborated to fool "broker" that murder went thru. This permitted SIGNIT to track source of order.
SBU says this was part of larger planned array of attacks on anti-Kremlin figures, which has now been nipped. I expect they & certainly Babchenko will be releasing evidence, lest this backfires. However, I doubt Babchenko would go for this crazy stunt on insufficient evidence.
To clarify possible confusion: despite Babchenko public apology to his wife for "the nightmare he caused", this doesn't mean she didn't know (she did, as did the kids).
IC source: "We had to come up a new method to fight back in this asymmetric hybrid war."
RussiaToday's editor in chief Margarita Simonyan "He's alive? Well, let him be alive then. And let the earth under him be glassy" (a Russian saying about a disliked dead man roughly equivalent to "let him not rest in peace")
And an undercover video/audio recording of the moment the organizer hands over the downpayment to the assumed "killer"...plus an undefined "instrument"...on April 27th
Duma near-abroad chief Kalashnikov: "This is either a provocation against Russia, to derail North Stream-2, just like #Skripal, or, there was indeed a price on his head, but put on him by someone in Ukraine".
SBU now clarify main reason for proceeding with faked "success" of hitjob: they had intercepted discussion of "other targets", a total of 30, to be handed down to intermediary upon success of firsr target. SBU claim they did get the list before grabbing intermediary
SBU will publish the complete dossier compiled by whoever ordered #Banchenko's murder including passport and credit card details. Not sure if they'll release the full target list as that would be laden with privacy issues

Now this is unexpected. Greek media report 4 Russian diplomats are being expelled over "meddling in domestic affairs" and bribing politicians and Orthodox church officials.
"The Russian diplomats ate accused of efforts to extract and circulate information"...noooo.
..in particular Athens names unacceptable activities by the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society. As I wrote back in 2014, this SVR front is headed by former FSB chief Stepashin, and Malofeev is on its board of trustees.
The airplane number of cocaine plane busted by Argentinian police belongs to Russia's AirForce One (seen here russianplanes.net/reginfof/98), @ru_rbc discovered and reported.

This comes literlally on the day Russia's Foreign Ministry said "the drug operation did not use diplomatic post channels".
Breaking: President Putin's office denies that RU Airforce One plane was used to transport drugs. Says Argentinian police photo shows "just some luggage loaded into a plane"
