Morneau starts off with a joke that isn’t funny; says last time he was here there was a sense of worry. Says they worked hard to come up w/ sol’n
Weird. Solution involves the pockets of Canadians instead of enforcing the law🤷🏻♀️ #KinderMorgan#ableg#cdnpoli#yycchamber
Now a protester. A women yelling. Saying pipeline will never get built. She is being booed out. And escorted out. 😱 #yyc#ableg#cdnpoli
Morneau says hard things are hard 🧐
Guess he is smarter than us eh? He is using our money.
Says he was a strong defender of the project. Now thanking people who have been working on this project for longer than him.
He acknowledges people are paid to oppose and there are those that support. He says he’s been in business and didn’t think govt owning it was not his choice. De-risk is the term he uses
Not sure how it is de-risked. They could enforce the law? 🤷🏻♀️
Says they are owners for short time and will seek private sector investment when they deem suitable. He wants project to get done. Says it will start now and says private sector could not maneuver btwn provinces.
Says the deal is fair for Canadians. 🧐
Says not a subsidy and it’s a fair price 🙄
This now demonstrates they can get big deals done 😜
He says this deal is exceptional and last pipeline 1953 that was to tidewater.
Says economy is doing well? 🤷🏻♀️
Competitiveness really matters he says.
Working hard to coming to agmt on NAFTA 😂
He says looking at taxes down south and is going to try and listen to people in the room. He believes we are competitive 😜
Doing this makes a statement to the country and he says they support the energy sector 🤣. The end.
Now it’s Madame Notley’s turn. 🤔
She says Morneau is tall. She said “you know what they say about building a pipeline to Tidewater?” She says she doesn’t know because it hasn’t happened in her lifetime. She gives Morneau accolades and thanks him.
She said she was told by the PM that Bill would call and they kept their word. And this is what this city and province were looking for. They had a collaborative effort and thanks Ian. Thanks everyone in the room and all Canadians.
She said people were cheering them on and their email inbox was full of support. Forgive my ignorance but it sounds like it’s built already! 🧐😜
She says we’ve had some tough times and that’s why this project is important because it means certainty and investment and jobs. She said lighting is bad so she is winging it.
Now a presentation and she is talking about the media campaign the govt did. She’s presenting jackets to Bill and Ian. They are white windbreakers
The end. Sorry for typing and auto correct errors 🤪😘
No mention of how this will not remain tied up in court given Horgan comments nor any mention of police etc being involved to remove protesters SO THAT work could commence now as they indicate...but hey, details shme-tails 🤓 #cdnpoli#ableg#KinderMorgan

So its Canada Day long weekend and here are some thoughts which may be unpopular to many. The masses are disenchanted with govt, media and the establishment. Why does it seem like our politicians/leaders lack principles? #cdnpoli
There are inside voices and outside voices, why not have one voice that is the same? Why can't they be human and be truthful to themselves and others? Given our current state, status quo politicians are out of touch #cdnpoli
People would be more receptive to a human that says the truth instead of pandering and appeasing to whatever flavour of political correctness is in vogue...no one is perfect nor should we expect them to be? #cdnpoli
