In my experience, it's clear that TfL => Trade Association set up to protect its Bus & Tram Contractors instead of regulating their Safety Performance. Read @CarolinePidgeon's & @KeithPrinceAM's MQTs sometime & you'll see how far City Hall & TfL go to protect them from #Scrutiny

TfL's ignorance of the safety performance of its Bus contractors is, IMO, a deliberate negligence. If TfL pays BusCos only for On-Time Performance & removes any risk of BusCos being held responsible for the dangerous behaviour such contracts incentivise, Bus'll always be On Time

IMO The key to this #Lethal Surface Transport System was to have TfL act as a "shield" to protect its private Contractors' interests (instead of protecting the public interest). Recent TfL Board Minutes seem pretty damning: TfL Managers confirmed to @MLiebreich 3x that critical safety audit had been sent to Regulators & Investigators but that NEVER HAPPENED insidecroydon.com/2018/04/03/mor…
So on 27 May I wrote to Simon French of @raibgovuk asking for it to issue an amendment to its 7 December 2017 investigation to take into account the evidence TfL failed to send when it had plenty of time to do so. For example, RAIB report only referred to 2014 Audit not 2017's
And Caroline responded SAME DAY "idea would be raised in Committee." So 2 Days for RAIB to respond w "we're taking your evidence seriously" & hours for London Assembly Transport Committee to respond w "got it, we'll give it serious thought" &, ZILCH from Mayor & TfL Chairman.
