This week, two pivotal pieces were published that everyone #mustread. @HenMazzig and @yumcoconutmilk's pieces, side by side, truly represent WMFA's raison d'être & demand for inclusivity. The divisive tendencies of certain social justice leaders deeply harms all of us. 1/n
In @yumcoconutmilk's powerful piece, "Memo To Shaun King From A Black Jew: Stop Dividing Our Communities," Nylah explains how @ShaunKing's construct of US vs THEM is detrimental to social justice. The path towards progress demands unity, not division. 2/n forward.com/opinion/402683…
In @HenMazzig's equally powerful piece, "As a Queer Jew of Color, I Find Tamika Mallory’s Latest Comments Particularly Heartbreaking," Hen examines how @lsarsour & @TamikaDMallory strive towards division. These are not true social justice leaders. 3/n tabletmag.com/scroll/263721/…"
When WM leaders diminish the voices of those who are Jewish, trans, lesbian & bisexual by unapologetically preserving relationships with Farrakhan who has a well-documented, long history of hatred toward these persecuted & marginalized minorities, they don't deserve to lead. 4/n
When "social justice warriors" & allies of the @womensmarch like @ShaunKing choose to focus on only hunting nazis that are convenient for their political agenda while defending anti-Semites within their own community, they do not deserve to be called social justice warriors. 5/n
This week, another video of @LouisFarrakhan preaching tremendously anti-Semitic remarks appeared on Farrakhan's timeline. Thus far, it has been "liked" nearly 900 times. This was a perfect opportunity for @ShaunKing, @TamikaDMallory, & @lsarsour to speak up: yet none of them did.
