Great article Mr. Boren. Your story helps my theory that Wolfe groomed Watkins to be one of four friendly journos. @nytimes says relations started in 2104, your article says 2013. Would you clarify the discrepancy? It will help my timeline. 
Respectfully, the sacred journalism argument falls flat. NYT, BF, & Politico preferred clicks over integrity. @AliWatkins lied to the FBI- Wolfe has ALWAYS been her source. Not 4th estate, but deep state. Planted stories with friendlies is not journalism. Propaganda & spy-craft.
AW knew MW violated the law. She worked as an accomplice to his crimes. Journalists are not above the law. Criminal conspiracy of this magnitude must be investigated. In this case, Ms. Watkins role as adulterous lover in receipt of classified information is at issue. #Petraeus
Remember, David Petraeus did the same thing. He leaked to his lover and lied to the FBI about it. AW & MW lied to the @FBI as well. Her job as journalist is irrelevant. Wolfe gave his side piece intelligence she passed off as legitimately sourced. There is a bigger story afoot.
It would be great if the media were to investigate the details & ask tough questions, instead of making itself the story. NYT, @BuzzFeed, @politico look biased, foolish, & unethical. Again, great article where focus is on the story not the sacred journalism bit.
