Let the Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 #Nuzlocke Challenge begin! Very excited for this. This game was my childhood!

#Nuzlocke Rules
-Only catch the 1st monster in each area (overworld or dungeon)
-IF that fails, I can accept the 1st monster that offers to join me (this happens often)
-Breeding is unrestricted
-Autojoining monsters (there are 3) can be used
-Can revive IN boss battles only

Warubou, being the responsible elemental spirit of the island, plugs the navel (the... island's bellybutton?), while Prince Kameha runs off. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Slash, one of the farm monsters, will be my "starter"! He's a basic slime but has enough base HP to carry us through the early worlds. Cobi will stay and tend to the monsters while I get to have all the fun. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Dad is proud of me so he gives me my first meat! This is how you catch monsters--you make them like you before you defeat them, and they might join your party. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

A CactiBall! Not too bad. It's not useful in any breeding combos (except as a generic plant monster since it's in the Plant family), but tbh there's not much in this first world anyway. Let's see if I can catch it! #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Doing some quick grinding since this game can be tough. Also, like I mentioned, a lot of monsters will throw themselves at you to join your party, but I have to turn them away since I already caught Theo. :( #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Found Kalka, my first village! Seems like they've fallen on hard times. And they don't even know where I can find a plug! #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

There's another village down south called Asiya. This is where the king's castle is. Seems like people are saying he might know what I can use for a plug. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

buuuuut talking with the townsfolk, it sounds like 1) the king likes circuses, and 2) there's a circus guy recruiting because the thieves attacked his troupe! How fortunate for me. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

The circus guy is the only one left in his troupe, so he's hiring random kids off the street (well, he likes my monsters). #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Well, sounds like I need another monster to join. Luckily, there's a well right here with monsters inside! This lady says they're strong though. Hopefully not too strong... #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Encountered a monster pretty quick! This is a Spooky--there are much better monsters down here, but oh well, gotta try for him. Will it work?? #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

If they raise the flow, the oasis will dry up, so none of the king's men want to do it. So he does what any good king would do and--wait, he ran off to go do it himself? #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Our responsible king shoves the canal guy out of the way and runs into the monster infested well. Guess I'll go after him. #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

One thing I like about this game is that your monsters follow you around on the screen. :)

The truth comes out! Their home was invaded by those pesky thieves. The king offers to go there himself (as usual) and put them in prison. This satisfies the beaver! #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

At last, I get a plug: the TidalBell! Gotta meet the king back at the castle.

Found a Rib (excellent for catching monsters at this point in the game), and immediately got into a fight! Antbears are definitely not the strongest, but I prefer it over the mushroom thing... and I like the Beast family on the whole, so yay! #DWM2 #Nuzlocke

Aha, found the boss castle. It looks like a Pumpoise! These guys aren't too hard, at least in the Ice World. I had one of these in an old game which I got to an excessively high level through breeding. Hopefully this one isn't gonna be that tough! #DWM2 #Nuzlocke
