Conservatives can't let it go. They can't accept that they are wrong, and that they've always been wrong about @HillaryClinton.

Despite having been investigated several times by the most partisan and relentless individuals imaginable.

Nothing.

No thing.

No thing there.

And the people investigating her have wanted, often (it seemed) needed, to find SOMETHING.

Anything.

Take one part speculation and two parts innuendo and top it off with a pile of manufactured anger and moral shock and you have the basic recipe for every Hillary "scandal."

If you think that Ken Starr, Trey Gowdy, and probably even James Comey wouldn't have given their life's blood to find that thing to bring her down then you are being wilfully ignorant to the obvious reality.

They need Clinton to be corrupt & evil b/c there's money to be made.

Money in books.
Money in films.
Money to be raised from donors anxious to "Stop Hillary from taking your guns!" or to "Keep Hillary from making abortion mandatory!"

Whole careers are anti-Hillary careers.

So many people made so much money from trying to take down Clinton in 2015 and 2016 that's it's absolutely mind boggling.

Hell, televangelists raised money from it.

Everytime @wikileaks prepared another release of emails Assange would brag that this was the batch.

This was the group that held the smoking gun. Just wait, he'd tease. We've got her.

Every. Single. Time.

And the world bought it. People would click and click and click and the @nytimes would speculate and quote unnamed sources and people would click and click and click.

Except no.

There was no smoking gun.

What the emails showed if you really read them without hate colored glasses is a really kind, compassionate person who suffered from bouts of insecurity, and after decades of experience worry about how the press was reporting on her.

Like all of us she worried about how her boss viewed her, and whether people were doing right by her.

But she also showed an immense amount of care for her friends, colleagues, and those her worked for her. She was a workhorse who took every detail seriously.

Good things.

After years of investigation the highly partisan email and Benggazi investigation by the Special Committee found nothing. They had subpoenaed every Democrat in DC for hours of testimony & every political enemy too.

They found nothing.

Millions of dollars. Nothing credible.

Then the @FBI investigation ended similarly, but for the fact that @Comey felt the overpowering need, not once, but twice, to insert himself & his opinions into the mix in the most public and inappropriate ways possible.

But no charges.
None.

Though they wanted to find IT.

IT, of course, being that elusive smoking gun.

Perhaps they should, after two decades employ my good friend Occam's favorite Razor:

If after you searched for something in every imaginable place the simplest solution to the problem is that it probably was never there.

With @realDonaldTrump you can't turn a corner or peek at a piece of paper w/o finding something.

I tweeted a day or two ago that, yes, @HillaryClinton was right.

But also, just as importantly, we were right about her.

That matters. She matters.
