New to the SNP? And want to get actively involved? Here are some ways you can do just that…
1.Campaign! Help with surveys (canvassing), delivering leaflets and with street stalls. Your local SNP will send you details of where and when. >
2.Shape policy. Any member can put forward policy ideas at your local SNP branch meeting. Come along and find out how. Also, come along to our National Assemblies over the summer to discuss the Sustainable Growth Commission report. We want your ideas and expertise! >
3. Meet your fellow SNP members – at local branch meetings, social events (everything from quiz nights to ceilidhs!) and big national events like Conference in October. >
4. Fundraise and donate. We need to build our campaign funds, so any help you can give to help raise funds or any donation you can make is fantastic. >
5. Bring your ideas, expertise and enthusiasm! You will be made very welcome in the SNP. We wouldn’t be the party we are without all of our amazing members. Thank you for joining!
6. Adding another :) Get in touch with your local SNP if you can help with any admin tasks - like stuffing envelopes, data input and lots more!
7. Get involved with one of our many SNP organisations and groups - including the @YSINational (our youth organisation), the @SNPStudents as well as the @SNP_TUG (our Trade Union Group). Plus, new groups like @SNP_dmg (Disabled Members Group) and @SNPBAME#ActiveSNP
8. Encourage your friends and family to join too. I remember how daunting it was to join a political party, as I had preconceptions of what it would be like, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Invite others to come on this amazing journey with you! #ActiveSNP
9. And don't hesitate to contact your local SNP representatives directly to let them know you are happy to get involved, and let them know about your skills and experience too. They will be delighted to hear from you! #ActiveSNP
