If electricity becomes unreliable, natural gas delivery becomes unreliable. Cooking will become a near impossibility in urban centers. If you can find any food to cook, because processing food and transporting it will become difficult

And guns are icky! How will you defend yourself and your family from the marauders since you have no guns and aren't proficient with them? How, if you were able to find a game animal large enough to sustain you and yours for even a few days, would you kill it?
