What I *do* want is for #Americans to wake up and truly see a bigger picture.

1)We are rapidly facing a major Y in the decision tree. Even if we make the right political decision, our current situation may not end well.

If we do nothing or make the wrong decision, well...no one lives forever.

2)While a potential #BlueWave2018 is great, please do not think it will solve the systemic problems in this country. Look at it as amputating a gangrenous limb from a Type II diabetic, who won’t lose weight/eat right/take insulin.

3)Even with a 🌊, things could easily get worse.

Democrats aren’t exactly FIGHTING in Congress. I am not certain they will be resolute enough, should they be victorious.

But. It’s better for us if they do win, if only to return to systemic stasis.

4)Because right now, the system has zero brakes, no checks and balances, and a worn-off veneer of justice.

The system may have lulled us previously into thinking it was okay because it ran “smoothly”, but in current form, it’s like a runaway train engine headed for a brick wall.

5)If we don’t have a 🌊, we may easily be under martial law at this time in 2019.

Oh, you think that’s crazy? You’re cute.

What do regimes *do* when the veneer comes off and the people rise up? If you think they 🍾 and welcome the revolutionaries, learn some history.

6)Which leads me to my greater point:

Who do you trust? What plans do you have in place for survival? How are your networks built?

7)This is not just Boy Scout level of “be prepared”, though that can’t hurt. Definitely have a supply of fresh water, canned/dried food, source of heat, some cash stashed (if you can...economic privilege is real), a passport, medical supplies, things to barter.

8)No, this level of preparedness also includes methods of communication, people with different skill sets, willingness to be part of a SBO, ability to negotiate terms, ability to cut through bullshit of daily life to do whatever is necessary to survive.

Can you do it?

9)Because should martial law be imposed (a possibility if despite what #Mueller finds, our Grifter-In-Chief and his henchmen decide not to leave), our lives change.

Who you trust, who you choose to know ANY details of your life may have lethal consequences, if you get it wrong.

10)What are you prepared to do? What would you NEVER do?

Think about that. Really deeply. Because who we were in 2016 is not who we are in 2018. The veneer of civility is being removed far faster than we believed possible.

11) @sarahkendzior asked us in 2016 to write down who we were, what we wanted, what we believed.

I’ll bet most of us didn’t heed her advice.

That’s a shame.

12) I’ll stop now with this thought:

Trump and his supporters are very focused on what is “legal.” They flought the law to achieve their objectives but demand the rest of us uphold it.

If they’re treating asylum seekers like dirt, if they’re trying to denaturalize citizens...

13) What makes you think you aren’t next? Whatever it is you do...whoever you are...trust me when I say that an authoritarian regime can find a way to make illegal both your *actions* and your *being*.

14)This is our tipping point.

Who are we?

What do we stand for?

How much are we willing to discomfort ourselves?

When are we willing to say “Enough”?

Where are we willing to go?
