Thread : Men from Pakistani intelligence agency ISI visited my elderly parents in Pakistan yesterday 20th June. They said loud and clear that they have orders to abduct and torture my father and attack my family to teach me a lesson. This is not the first incident.

Previously, they visited my family on 10th of may and said that they have orders to abduct my sisters, parents and brother. They also talked to me on phone. In May, they also threatened my mother directly.

They said ask Waqass to ShutUp. Don’t tweet or write and no activity at-least till the elections.

Before that they had visited my family multiple times in 2017. They tried to frame my family for terrorism and possession of multiple automatic weapons (which obviously my family has never possessed ).

They are targeting my parents to deliver a message to me that I may be safe abroad but my family in Pakistan is not. These savage minds think that family and parents are liability and can be used as leverage.

This is the 21st century and terrorizing parents , siblings or families of activists does not work.
We filed a petition last year in Lahore High court (LHC )via @Asma_Jahangir which was rejected by LHC. We have reported all these incidents to the police in past.

When the other bloggers and I were released in January last year, we were threatened and told that the religious radicals could attack us and families if we speak to public or media.

A political fight is being turned into an ugly personal fight and our families are being used as leverage and collateral.
Threatening and attacking families is not going to make things any better. A political fight should not be fought as personal fight.

Personal fight has never worked and will never work in politics.
Having parents and the elderly at gun point does not make things better and it is not a deterrent.

The State seems helpless against ISI. These people abduct, visit and threaten unarmed citizens in a city like Lahore with impunity.

ISI officials and men in Army uniform along with the FIA have been threatening the families of other activists as well. Many people can not report it due to fear.

It should have been clear by now that I will not be blackmailed by blasphemy campaigns and guns pointed at my family.

@OfficialDGISPR emphasizes dialogue and at the same time the criminals from ISI harass our families. @peaceforchange (General Asif Gahfoor) mentioned at Iftar of international journalists how Armed forces are trying to engage people and they approached me.

But that appears more of an image building excercise because behind the scenes same terror tactics continue unabated.
There can not be and there will not be any dialogue at gun point.

I will use every possible option and go to every platform to fight for my rights. Pakistan is my country and I will keep fighting to free my country from this terror. Abductions, killings, dumping political activists and terrorizing families has to end.

Pakistani courts may be under duress but @amnesty , @amnestynl , @HRW , @UNGeneva , @UN @EUPakistan , @EU_Commission , @OHCHR_Europe , @Europarl_EN and other world bodies are not.

If my family is harmed any way directly or indirectly the world should know that General Faiz DG ISI internal wing, Brigadier Adil Sector Commander Lahore and their staff is responsible.

Harming the families of political activists may satisfy the egos of some Generals or Brigadiers but it will not achieve their intended aims. It has hurt Pakistan already and it will hurt Pakistan more.

Better sense must prevail at all levels within Military establishment and terrorizing the people of Pakistan must end.
