Six months ago, Congressional Republicans passed a hastily written #GOPTaxScam law that adds $1.8 trillion to the deficit to give massive tax breaks to the wealthiest. The bill came to the Floor without hearings, testimony, &, very frankly, without proofreading.

The #GOPTaxScam will cause taxes to go up for 86 million middle-class households and give 83% of the tax cuts to the top 1% of Americans.

Six months after the #GOPTaxScam, none of the promises that Republicans made are coming to fruition.

Republicans promised that American workers would see a $4,000 raise thanks to the #GOPTaxScam, but wages are falling. They said that families struggling from paycheck to paycheck would see real relief, but rising health care & gas costs are eating up more of their paychecks.

Republicans promised that companies would use their tax cuts from the #GOPTaxScam to hire more workers and raise wages, but many companies are laying off workers & many more are using their tax cut to enrich investors through stock buybacks.

.@HouseGOP said all Americans would be better off under the #GOPTaxScam, but, six months later, we know that’s not true for many middle-class Americans.

Today, we are joined by a small biz owner who will discuss how the #GOPTaxScam has created more uncertainty & complexity for his company; a mom who is facing the prospect of skyrocketing health costs; & a senior concerned by how the law undermines Medicare.

The more time passes & Americans learn what’s in the #GOPTaxScam, the more unpopular it becomes. Dems will continue to hold the GOP accountable for their vote to raise taxes on the middle class, kick millions off health coverage, & make the tax code more confusing for small biz.
