THREAD: Body Language & Emotional Intelligence - Analysis No. 4311: Jeff Sessions, "We never really intended to do that" • #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #Nonverbal #JeffSessions #DonaldTrump #SeparatingChildren #Immigration #EmotionalIntelligence
1/ Jeff Sessions recent behavior could get him expelled from the Methodist Church. On 18 June 2018, 640 senior clergies of the United Methodist Church clergy brought charges against the attorney general.
2/ Invoking paragraph 2702.3 of the United Methodist Book of Discipline, they charged Mr. Sessions with child abuse, immorality (including “the use of violence against children to deter immigration”), ...
3/ ... racial discrimination, and the dissemination of false doctrine counter to Methodist teachings (e.g., his use of the Bible verse Romans 13 in an attempt to legitimize President Trump's immigration policies).
4/ On 21 June, Sessions appeared in an interview on Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) News. What follows is a partial nonverbal analysis of a portion of that interview (a segment of which is included within the above MSNBC video).
5/ JEFF SESSIONS (beginning at 0:56): "... It hasn't been good [Tight Tongue Jut] And the American people don't like the idea that we're separating families - ahum - we never really intended to do that. What we intended to do [sniff] was to ahum make sure that - ..."
6/ "... adults who bring children into the country are [stutter, stammer] charged with the crime they've committed instead of giving that special group of adults immunity from prosecution - which is what, in effect, we were doing [sniff, Tight Tongue Jut] ..."
7/ "...Ahum, so I think it's the right thing. We'll work our way through it ahum, - and try and do it in the most compassionate way possible."
8/ Throughout much of his interview, Jeff Sessions displayed multiple examples of partially suppressed smiles.
9/ This suppressed smile was captured during 1:03 after Sessions says, "... ahum - we never really intended to ..."
10/ Consider the context of this interview:

• He's the Attorney General of the United States

• The issue at hand was the forcible separation of children from their parents - occurring at least 2300 times under his direction
11/ • Most of the World is highly vocal and extremely critical of the Trump Administration's policy and actions on this matter
12/ • The United Methodist Church has charged him with:
1. Child abuse
2. Violence against children to deter immigration
3. Racial discrimination
4. The dissemination of false doctrine
13/ Given these circumstances, any smiling is extremely out of context behavior. Why then is Jeff Sessions smiling?

We are left with the following conclusions:
14/ • Attorney General Sessions' smiling is a manifestation of Deception - a phenomenon known as "Duping Delight" - where a person takes pleasure in their belief that fooled others into believing their lie ...
15/ ... (We know that he's lying based on other well documented/videoed statements he and the Trump Administration have made).
16/ and/or

• Jeff Sessions is taking pleasure, true Joy-Happiness in the forcible separations of children from their parents
17/ This image of a suppressed smile was captured during 1:14, Sessions says, "... crime ..."
18/ Additional tells we see during this portion of his interview:

• Stammering/Stuttering (indicative of significantly high anxiety)
• Sniffing
• Tight Tongue Juts
19/ This is a Tight Tongue Jut (indicating Disdain, Disgust, Repulsion) during 0:58, just after Sessions says, "It hasn't been good".
20/ During 1:05, just after AG Sessions says, "... the American people don't like the idea that we're separating families - ahum - we never really intended to do that. What we intended to do ..." - he sniffs deeply.
21/ When there are no infections or allergies present, sniffing is an extremely common indicator of anxiety.
22/ Moreover, taken in toto with the other signals present - and given the timing/coordination of his sniffing with his verbal statement - it's also highly correlative with deception.
23/ In addition, Sessions is also displaying a Forward Lip Purse in this moment - indicating a Clandestine Disagreement or Clandestine Plan. This nonverbal is ALWAYS a red flag that whatever the person is saying - it's considerably different vs. what they're thinking-feeling.
24/ During 1:22, just after he says, "...instead of giving that special group of adults immunity from prosecution - which is what, in effect, we were doing ...", Sessions makes another Sniffing Display - in conjunction with another Tight Tongue Jut.
25/ SUMMARY: Jeff Sessions is lying during this interview. You don't need to be a body language expert to know that - you simply have to watch/listen to his previous videoed statements...
26/ Yet this short display serves as an excellent nonverbal teaching example - for we don't always have such ample evidence...
27/ Moreover, he has clear disgust, disdain, and repulsion for the people who are immigrating. Sessions is also very possibly taking true pleasure in others' suffering.

1/ THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4450: Trump delivers remarks in Oshkosh, WI — a Red Flag Body Language expression — Nonverbal and Emotional Intelligence #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #EmotionalIntelligence #DonaldTrump #Sociopath #Psychopath
2/ Donald Trump delivered a campaign speech earlier today in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He repeatedly made the expression show in this accompanying still image. Note his central forehead is contracted and elevated while simultaneously displaying a (feigned) mouth smile.
3/ We all make an expression similar to this one *once-in-a-while* when we're feeling:

• Smug Incredulity
• Arrogance
• Contempt

(although all of these thought-emotions have other facial expressions with which they're associated)

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4350: Ashley Kavanaugh during Brett Kavanaugh's Swearing-in Ceremonies for the Supreme Court - #Nonverbal #EmotionalIntelligence #AshleyKavanaugh #BrettKavanuagh #SwearingIn #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #LowConfidence #Beta #GetMeOutOfHere
1/ Yesterday, after the closest Senate vote in 137 years, Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. Ashley Kavanaugh's body language during her husband's swearing-in ceremony is worthy of scrutiny.
2/ Note in the above image, as retired Justice Anthony Kennedy administers the Judicial Oath to Brett Kavanaugh, Ashley Kavanaugh is standing with her left leg crossed in front of her right leg. This nonverbal display indicates a lowered confidence level & a beta emotional tone.

1/ There are many nonverbal signs indicating relative levels of confidence. During last week's hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford exhibited contrasting examples of one such signal.
2/ When a person raises their right hand to be sworn-in before testifying, if their fingers and/or thumb are spread apart - it signals low levels of confidence.

1/ The following is my second analysis of a portion of Brett Kavanaugh's testimony during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on 27 September 2018.
2/ JOHN KENNEDY (beginning at 3:45:39): "I’m — I’m sorry, judge, for what you and your family have been through. And I’m sorry - for what Dr. Ford and her family have been through. It could have been avoided [long pause] Do you believe in God?"

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4347: Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings - Part I • #Nonverbal #Emotional #Intelligence #KavanaughHearings #ChristineBlaseyFord #BrettKavanaugh #BodyLanguageExpert #BodyLanguage
1/ In case you hadn't heard, on Wednesday 27 September 2018, both Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
2/ This hearing could supply a year's worth of nonverbal teaching examples and it would close to impossible to analyze the entire event in one session. Thus, what follows is the first of several analyses of this historic exchange.

1/ THREAD: Trump's Press Conference • Pupil Alert • Why are Trump's Pupils So Large?

During President Trump's Press Conference today, his pupils were quite dilated - to as much as 7.0 mm.

Here are his pupils imaged at the 31:49 mark in this video:
2/ On other days in similar light conditions, they are within normal limits (e.g., 3.0 mm).

The intermittent and yet extreme nature of Trump's pupillary dilation is profound. From a medical standpoint, this is NOT normal.
3/ This intermittent pattern is NOT due to trauma, complications from surgery, or disease.
