So the feds gave the #OccupyICEPDX camp the order to clear out or face arrest.
Remember how the US flag was removed from the roof of the Portland ICE building? A new flag was added. This new flag says “refugees welcome.” #OccupyICEPDX
This man appears to be tidying things up around the perimeter of the #OccupyICEPDX camp.
A group of bicyclists must walk their bikes as they approach the #OccupyICEPDX camp, which is situated along a bike path.
Can’t seem to get a good enough wind to kick up, but here’s a better shot of the “refugees welcome” flag anti-ICE activists placed on the Portland ICE building’s flagpole. #OccupyICEPDX
Commissioner Chloe Eudaly is here making a statement to media. She says she is proud of the occupiers and supports them. #OccupyICEPDX
Commissioner Eudaly accuses the US government of violating the 5th and 14 amendments. #OccupyICEPDX
So here’s the current ICE building driveway/entrance featured on that handout. #OccupyICEPDX
One of the anti-ICE protesters walked across the street and handed this to me. There’s a message on the bottom calling for ICE agents to resign. #OccupyICEPDX
Regardless of the other government entities involved with the #OccupyICEPDX land there are still a handful of tents, not to mention chairs and other things, in the driveway of the Portland ICE building pictured in the handout I tweeted.
So this guy is here, he says he owns a black truck parked nearby emblazoned w a Trump sticker. I asked him if the truck was his and he told me “the first person to mess with it is going to get shot.” #OccupyICEPDX
ICE handed out fliers at the camp outside the Portland location and then left. “Thank you very much for taking the fliers, we’ll see you again soon,” said the federal cop who appeared to be in the lead. #OccupyICEPDX
Dude with the soldier look is parked like a block and a half away still. #OccupyICEPDX
Ppl keep asking what the latest flier looks like—well it seems to be the same flier as DHS gave the #OccupyICEPDX campers this morning.
A man is now playing bagpipes outside of the ICE building. Doesn’t look like the unipiper or Jimmy Marr. #OccupyICEPDX
(My reaction upon hearing bagpipes is always immediately wondering if it’s either the unipiper or jimmy marr)
First rule of protests: Take all the paper handouts. #OccupyICEPDX (Video from earlier of @DHSgov rolling up)
This is one of those things that might not make sense right now, but as you go along you’ll find that you never know just what someone is going to hand you. For example: This was handed to me at a protest in Seattle.

Today I was talking with one of the employees at The Happy Camper food truck, which is across the street from the ICE building in Portland. Their business is way, way down since the ICE building closed. They said the #OccupyICEPDX campers do buy coffee, but that’s about it.

I’m here in Seattle at the rally, and people are open-carrying guns although that’s not unusual. Several dozen militia-types at a Seattle City Hall for this rally and march. Lots of 3 perfected patches.
Cops have been brought in from other cities to assist @SeattlePD with the event. And there’s a big ‘ol bus parked around the corner, and it’s special of course.
So I’m now in downtown Portland covering the Patriot Prayer rally and counterprotest. There’s a cop slowly driving a cruiser around the grass, stopping at times. A barricade system has been setup north of the Salmon Springs Fountain, just waiting for the crowd. #DefendPDX
Wouldn’t hurt to have a boat in the water in case someone goes over the waterfront’s railing and into the Willamette river 🤷♂️ #DefendPDX#AllOutPDX#Portland
Meanwhile: Police around the corner outside of central precinct, some are putting on riot gear for the upcoming Patriot Prayer event/counterprotest. There’s the police vehicles w the bumpers that the police will ride around on, too. #DefendPDX#AllOutPDX
Must be the Patriot Prayer rally and counter-demonstrations. This person dressed as Pepe told me they made this costume yesterday for less than $20.
Follow along here for my coverage from downtown Portland. #DefendPDX is the hashtag
DHS has the block around Schrunk Plaza shutdown. Gonna be a B walking around down here until the march starts.
If you want into the Joey Gibson’s Patriot Prayer rally you’ll have to enter Schrunk from the south
