A Russian-American businessman who donated a substantial sum to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election effort boasted to a senior figure in Moscow that he was “actively involved” in the Republican candidate’s campaign. 🚨 theguardian.com/us-news/2018/s…
Simon Kukes told Vyacheslav Pavlovsky, a career Kremlin official, he was helping Trump with “strategy development” and shared photos of his 29-year-old Russian girlfriend posing with the future president.

Prosecutors granted immunity to David Pecker, chairman of American Media Inc., and A.M.I.’s chief content officer, Dylan Howard, so they would describe Trump’s involvement in Cohen’s payments to porn star Stormy Daniels and Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal during the 2016 campaign

Federal authorities investigating whether Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, Michael D. Cohen, committed bank and tax fraud have zeroed in on well over $20 million in loans obtained by taxi businesses that he and his family own. 🚨 nyti.ms/2OKRfaX
Investigators are also examining whether Cohen violated laws by helping to arrange financial deals to secure the silence of women who said they had affairs with Mr. Trump. The inquiry has entered the final stage and prosecutors are considering filing charges by the end of August.
The tax fraud aspect of the investigation has been focused in part on whether Cohen properly reported the income from his taxi medallions, which was sometimes in cash.
