I have had a brilliant idea for solving the UK's Brexit problem, which I will call The Brexit Bond, and which will make me famous through the ages. 1/n
The problem is that lots of people in the UK think Brexit will be brilliant and will make us all rich, but also lots think it won't be brilliant and will make us all poor 2/n.
Why, says group 1, can't you stop moaning and get behind the project? But why, says group 2, should we pay for your delusions? 3/n
Aha, says I, here's my idea. We sell Brexit bonds to group 1, and these pay all the gains deriving from growth above trend (lets call it the Brexit dividend) in interest to the owners of the bonds. Remoaners will get nothing, not a penny, and Leavers will rejoice (again).
What if Leavers are wrong (which they're not, because they say so)? They will make up all the shortfall from growth below trend (lets call it Project Fear), in extra payments. 5/n
The Brexit Bond: if you believe in Brexit, buy it. If you don't believe in Brexit: sit it out. (Warning: markets go down as well as up, and you could be on the hook for a lot more than £350m a week, but you won't because Brexit will be great). 6/n
This imo solves all of our country's problems, and has a pleasingly financialised nature to it too, since the Brexit-backing hedgies will make all the money, like they did out of the collapse in the pound. If there's no money to be made, they bail us out. #yay ends/n

This story is absolutely insane. At first glance, you think "well done, Companies House, at last they're getting serious about the epidemic of fraud enabled by the misuse of British corporations". gov.uk/government/new…
Yay, Business Minister Andrew Griffiths, you think. Finally, someone is bothering to check the bona fides of the 700,000 or so new companies created each year in the UK.
And then, you think, hang on a second, what kind of lunatic would commit this crime? Why on earth would they create companies and make government ministers directors of them without their knowledge?
