In addition, if you truly believe that charter schools are public schools and you "don't see a difference," I urge you to make all LEA records FOIA'able and reverse the @dcpcsb and @SDPearson decision to hide hundreds of thousands of dollars of spending from public view

Most of what we've talked about with public schools in the last years has come from the work of journalists like Rachel. If "charter schools are public schools" we should let the fourth estate do their good work there too and I encourage you to lead on this issue as well.
Finally, I'll once again plead with you to ask @MayorBowser to put a real DCPS parent and teacher voice on the Chancellor search committee. There is no excuse to have a charter school lobbyist taking a spot that could be held by those most directly affected.
It's easy to feel ignored as a @dcpublicschools parent because there are so many outside voices and money arguing over schools here. But it's ultimately our children we are talking about.
Finally Upshur Pool really needs bike racks. I don't know how to get it done, but it needs to be done.
