As I get deeper into the principles of ecommerce, sales, and personal branding, I’m realizing that all of your products can be fire as fuck, but if you got no traffic, you get no sales.

You gotta build traffic to get money.

Polarity at work once again.

Luckily for us, internet traffic isn’t as dangerous as actual traffic. We can consult frogger to confirm this.

(Yes I’m fully aware that I just dated myself. Fuck it.)

Internet traffic and analytics are necessary to determine whether or not you’re getting eyes on your stuff.

Traffic can come from a variety of places:

*Teh Googles
*Social Media Outrage
*Fake News
*Referrals

It doesn’t really matter how you get traffic, as long as you get it.

People try to get into the finer points of making people buy without fundamentals.

I fell for that.

I started trying to learn all the fancy shmancy copy writing techniques that your favorite copywriters like @BenSettle @DailyCopywriter @schm7dt @NabeelAzeezDXB use.

And while those techniques have definitely worked, my sales fell.

Why?

I wasn’t getting any traffic to my stores and products.

What good is being able to sell salt to a slug if there ain’t no damn slugs around??

So I went back to the basics briefly yesterday and started doing what I used to do on here before I became concerned with stacking followers.

I actually told people about my products.

So what did I do?

I wrote a thread under the product that I wanted to sell.

So why did I do this?

To create traffic.

You see twitter does this excellent thing when you write threads.

It refreshes the first tweet in the thread.

In doing this, more eyes are on your products while your thumbs are crashing against your black mirror at warp speed trying to provide value.

So I wrote my thread, put in a rather simple call to action, and voila:

5 sales in an hour.

I generate 10 million impressions a month now.

That’s a loooooooot of traffic.

It has nothing on Atlanta traffic, but I’m happy with my little lot in innanet land.

I’m still actively growing it and now I’m getting back to the finer points of directing traffic.

That’s the tough part.

Once you get the eyes, now what?

You direct them to your product or service so they can do what they wanted to do from the jump:

Hurry up and buy.

There’s where your goo roo copywriter skills come in handy.
