#DPRK foreign ministry says talks with @SecPompeo “really disappointing” because delegation “came out with such unilateral and robber-like denuclearization demands as CVID, declaration and verification that go against the spirit of the North-U.S. summit meeting.”
#DPRK “firm, steadfast" resolve to give up #nuclear programs may falter after US demanded unilateral denuclearisation during Pyongyang talks , according to KCNA.
Before leaving Pyongyang @SecPompeo said the talks were “productive” but acknowledged he did not meet Kim Jong Un on this trip.
So @SecPompeo would not personally have been able to hand Kim Jong Un the reported “Rocket Man” CD gift signed by @POTUS.
The Pyongyang talks made “progress on almost all of the central issues” and involved “good-faith negotiations, according to @SecPompeo contrasting the #DPRK foreign ministry’s assessment of the two days of discussions.
Here's the transcript of @SecPompeo exchange with reporters just prior to departing the #DPRK.
