Some final thoughts on my run-in yesterday with @MichaelAvenatti and why, until much work on his part, he will never find my support on any political level.

I will also discuss @EdKrassen's much RT's accusation that I am a Russian troll.

First, the tweet that started it all:

1/
I was filled with deep anger when I read Avenatti's first tweet, and even more so after reading his appeasement follow-up.

The tweets, in my opinion, show a more nuanced, but no less diabolical level of duplicity.

They are the height of "lawyerly," in the worst sense.

2/
The first is a flat-out pitch to Clinton's far left critics, though he would deny wanting to become "Bernie 2.0" in his reply to me (he blocked me after writing it, and before I could screenshot it, a friend supplied the above one), he adopts Sanders' very arguments here.

3/
Except he actually adds a right wing, and completely Bernie-brolicious "tired" into the mix.

So, that's fun.

Establishment is straight out of the Bernieverse lexicon, however.

All of this was on purpose. Avenatti is fashioning himself as another savior of the broken party.

4/
There is no reasonable person who can read Avenatti's first tweet and *not* assume that he's referring to Clinton.

What other "tired, establishment" candidate has the Democratic Party recently nominated?

@BarackObama?

That seems, um, unlikely.

5/
He's doing this, of course, because like for so many men with great political aspirations Clinton has become an inconvenient truth, if you will.

It should surprise no one to learn that Avenatti's tweet comes on the heels of #Clinton2020 trending on Twitter and those polls.

6/
Those polls I am referring to, of course, place a non-candidate @HillaryClinton firmly in second place for the nomination. Ahead of even her 2016 opponent the "still not a Democrat" @BernieSanders.

So, as usual, Avenatti is attempting to knee-cap Clinton ahead of the game.

7/
For those of who have been in this game long enough we are able to recognize an attempted political hatchet job when we see it, particularly when those hatchets aimed directly at @HillaryClinton.

Been there. Done that. Seen it all.

All.

Of.

It.

8/
His appeasement tweet, as I call it, meant to quell the oncoming storm he knew would brew, even as he fashioned his first tweet actually pissed me off more.

It was a "wink-wink" pat on the back head to Clinton supporters. An, of course I didn't call 'Hillary tired.'

9/
Except he did.

And that's Madam Secretary or, rather, Madam President to you MICHAEL.

If he had not meant Clinton he could have easily put together a far more convincing defense for himself.

That is his fucking job afterall.

But all of this is the least of it to my mind.
10/
The worst of this whole episode exposes a deep seated hypocrisy, a sign that Avenatti doesn't even believe his own arguments.

If one truly believes that Trump is a monster. If he truly believes that that monster consprired with Russia & did all of those terrible things...

11/
If he truly believes those things then he'd understand that Clinton's loss, was not actually a loss.

He'd be arguing that it's not the fucking Democrats that are broken, we did our job.

We nominated @HillaryClinton.

That was the right thing to do.

The Repugs are broken.

12/
The Republicans are who are broken. They gave us Trump as their nominee.

They broke the system.

If Avenatti truly believes his own arguments he'd be offering to represent @HillaryClinton and America in our just fight to seat the duly elected President of the United States.

13/
But apparently he doesn't, at least not when those arguments get in the way of his own ambitions and ego.

And for those will try to reverse "purity tests" my argument that's utter bullshit.

I'm just using logic to help vet a comer for the nomination to the party I love.

14/
I would also caution this.

Resistors, are you sure you believe your own words?

Honestly.

Real question.

Do you really, truly believe that forces conspired and stole the Presidency?

Because if you do, then buck the fuck up.

And do it soon...

15/
Because this isn't about finding someone who can beat Trump.

All of our main contenders would beat him with alacrity (for Mr. Awesome @Carlos_Thomas).

But none of them can beat him with same intellectual and moral forcefulness that Clinton did in 2016.

Not even Avenatti.

16/
If you believe, as I do that a true conspiracy kept Clinton from the White House in 2016 then this isn't about finding a winner.

It's about exposing the fissures.

It's about locating & exposing the faults.

Because if we don't.

It doesn't matter who we nominate.

Period.

17/
Because if our beloved resistance narrative is actually correct, and I know that it is, then we DID NOT lose.

The system failed. It's still broken.

It's utter concern trolling and self doubt to suggest otherwise.

To believe otherwise means the psy-ops operations worked.

18/
And that would mean Russia won.

Again.

Clinton cleaned his clock. She did her job. She said to his face all of the things most members of our beloved 4th Estate don't have the guts to even sub-tweet.

Don't tell me we erred or we need to fight harder.

You're wrong.

19/
Now about Russia.

More pointedly about @EdKrassen, a guy who actually followed me until I blocked him yesterday, and his dramatic labelling of me as a Russian troll to his 600,000 + followers.

This one smarted, not gonna lie.

20/
Because I took Avenatti to task for his tweet, Ed decided to use his rather impressive Twitter powers to bully me with the worst possible label within the Resistance movement.

He tried to turn me into the actual enemy.

He called me a traitor.

21/
But the facts are these.

I have been writing and warning about Russian influence and the possibility of a conspiracy since 2015.

On Twitter.

That is before the Krassenstein brothers first tweeted their own resistance by actual years, not months.

22/
That is all independently verifiable.

Many of my followers, some prominent around these parts & in the media, can attest to this fact.

I made over 20,000 fucking phone calls for @HillaryClinton.

I cried w/ people in the rain on the streets.

I knocked on so many doors.

23/
And I did much of that while taking care of my very ill mother, a woman who died two years ago on July 19th.

I've been the victim of repeated hacking and doxxing attempts.

I've had my life threatened.

I am the continual Target of actual Russian bots.

24/
I spent the first ten months of this nightmare, and many hours since, on the actual streets, alone, talking to anyone who was willing, and many who were not, about what was happening and helping to give them tools to resist all of this.

In all kinds of weather.

For free.

25/
To have a man, who himself is currently claiming to be the victim of unjust attacks on his character, so nonchalantly attack me in this way is, how you say, in your language, this annoying American English? Ironic? No?

Yes.

Ironic.

Waiting for that apology.

26/
I'm no one.

I'm less than no one.

I'm as poor as poor gets.

I'm barely not homeless, and if it's weren't for my friends Nikkie & Craig, I'd actually be homeless.

But I won't be bullied by Avenatti or Krassenstein.

Not here or anywhere.

Too much is at stake.

#Resist

Finally slept.

For a few days when I'd sleep I was either having nightmares about #Kavanaugh or, and this was a first, having nightmares about having nightmares about #Kavanaugh.

My poor puppies didn't know what the hell was going on...

"IT'S A NEW DAY. "

1/
When people invoke platitudes like this it is usually done in order to being hope, to assert the positive aspects of what's ahead.

Not today.

There is nothing positive about this. We played the Super Bowl and we lost, but there is no rematch.

2/
Worse, one of the players for the other team is suddenly a fucking umpire and wants to review the tapes of all previous games and change some of the calls made by other, better umpires from games we had already won in the past.

It doesn't make sense.

None of it.

I won't be lectured about majorities or electoral politics on the day #BrettKavanaugh was confirmed to #SCOTUS with the help of a goddamned Democrat.

I don't care where he's from or the demographics of his state. I don't care about any of that bullshit.

1/
He deserves some fire under his feet on the day he voted FOR a fucking lying racist rapist who is probably going to overturn ROE v. WADE and a host of other important pieces of legislation.

He could have called in sick.

He could have abstained.

2/
He could have stood on the Senate floor and said "I am casting this vote because my constituents have asked me to and I am their representative, but I personally strongly oppose this nominee, and support Professor Ford.

Instead he basically endorsed Collins speech.

Let it be our promise to every future life that is destroyed, changed, or affected by a Justice #Kavanaugh that we will make it a priority to see Sasse, Manchin, and Collins suffer for their vote today.

They must lose their Senate seats, and be reminded everyday why.

If we can't manage to focus long enough to carry through on our threats to our elected leaders who betray us then there will never be a reason to fear us. There will never be a reason to reconsider a decision or vote.

2/
And maybe no mistake, @SenatorCollins must be made an example of, if only because so much focus was placed on her and her decision making process.

But also because of that poisonous victim blaming/ shaming speech she delivered yesterday.

SUSAN COLLINS MUST LOSE IN 2020.

There is no way to sugarcoat how bad things just got, and if there was, we shouldn't. This is a loss that will haunt this nation for decades.

The confirmation of #BrettKavanaugh has managed to confirm more than just a man, for many, its confirmed our worst fears.

1/
It has confirmed that the @GOP is the most corrupt ruling party at the federal level in our nation's history. That they will do anything and everything to protect itself, including putting the survival of our Republic itself at risk.

2/
Its confirmed that the real decisions are made before the questions are even formally presented, and that they really do not care what our opinions of those decisions will be.

And it has also confirmed that Donald Trump has a lot more power than we imagined.

If you want to live in a nation that is "led" by a man who would mock someone who was the victim of a violent sexual assault then we are very different people.

Trump's behavior today was that of a playground bully. They were the words that a bully utters and then laughs.

1/
The bully imagines, and may even hear, the world laughing with him, but the chuckles are only from his hangers-on and those hoping to impress the bully.

The rest of the world only turns its head to look away. They hope that someone, anyone, will intervene.

2/
They almost always get away with it, though, bullies.

And Trump will likely get away with this, like always.

#ChristineBlaseyFord passed a lie detector test on the day of her grandmother's funeral. No one non-partisan or credible has questioned her credibility.

They told us @HillaryClinton was just as bad as @realDonaldTrump.

Hell, @SusanSarandon said she was worse.

She should really never open her mouth about politics again, ever.

That anyone ever fell for that ridiculous lie is beyond disgraceful.

Even if Clinton were guilty of the types of corruption they claimed she was she would still not be comparable in this way to Donald Trump.

Not even close.

But she's clearly not.

As the nation braces itself for the @GOP's latest betrayal in the runup to the #BrettKavanaugh confirmation vote, it is becoming clearer that even those we once believed retained some recognizably moral standards, simply don't.

@SenatorCollins, @lisamurkowski--we see you.
