So much fake news, outrage, moaning some from our own flock on the #JioInstitute matter. For once let us get into facts. 60 years of Congress Govt. in India & not ONE Indian University is in the list of top 200 World Rankings. Mind you India has 800 Universities as on date. (1)

So Modi Govt. without sleeping/doing nothing like other Govts. frames policy wherein Union HRD Ministry'll identify 20 Universities & grant #InstituteofEminence status. Out of 20, 10 will be public & 10 private run. #InstituteofEminence to cut redtape & give greater autonomy. (2)

Modi Govt. without appointing housemaids like Congress Govts did, prefers *eminent* "Selection Panel" to identify 20 #InstituteofEminence ! Panel - Gopalaswami Ex-CEC, Pritam Singh Ex-Director IIM, Renu Khato Pres, University of Houston, Tarun Khanna. Harvard Business School. (3)

Panel's job is to identify 20(10 Public & 10 Private) Institutes. Govt will fund ₹1000 Crores ONLY to 10 Public Institutes & NOT to 10 Private. Out of 10 Private to be granted #InstituteofEminence there is a Greenfield Category(like quota) that is ONLY for NEW Institutes. (4)

NEW Institute is an Institute that is NOT in existence BUT has all resources to become existent in the immediate future. Only Ambani's #JioInstitute apply for Greenfield Category? NO. 11 Institutes applied under Greenfield Category Airtel's Bharti University, Vedanta, KREA etc(5)

Did #JioInstitute not have merit to get a grant under Greenfield Category for #InstituteofEminence? If you say NO, the panel thought otherwise. Panel felt sponsoring organisation is India’s largest private sector company & the largest corporate spender on social initiatives. (6)

Panel also felt that the Reliance Group had a deep relationship with 50 top universities & has enormous experience of running top educational institutes including Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation Schools & other institutes in which the foundation was involved like (7)

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology, Pandit Deen Dayal Petroleum University, IIM Bangalore. Panel that selected #InstitutesOfEminence is much more eminent than people who are howling on Twitter without basic knowledge on the entire process. (8/8)

As per HRD Ministry, Institutes obtaining #InstitutesOfEminence status via Greenfield Category will ONLY get 'Letter of Intent' which states they must set-up within 3 years. Once its setup they get #IOE status, for now #JioInstitute to get ONLY Letter of Intent & NOT #IOE status.

You'd tongues out to obtain #Jio SIM Cards for yourselves & you've problem with #JioInstitute with ZERO knowledge on whats it. Mukesh Ambani obtained merit admission for his B.E in UDCT College(Top Tech Institute in India) Mumbai & raised a billion $ empire. Live with it whiners!
