Today is the day! We're launching our #MedicareForAll Caucus in the House. Health care cannot be a luxury that's only available for the wealthy and well-connected—it is a human right.

Just days before the 53rd anniversary of @MedicareGov, I'm proud to launch our #MedicareForAll Caucus as a founding co-chair.

We're united today because we know health care must be affordable and accessible to ALL people in the U.S.

Medicare for All is the way forward.
With @keithellison, @RepDebDingell, @repmarkpocan, @NationalNurses, @popdemoc, @SSWorks, @Public_Citizen, activists, advocates and 62 other members of Congress, we are fighting for the conviction that health care is a human right. #MedicareForAll #M4ACaucus
Our #M4ACaucus will help build the evidence base for #MedicareforAll. We'll spread the word on everything from M4A basics to financing to information on health care around the world. We will make sure members of Congress and their staff have the resources to move M4A forward.
We want to make sure that everyone has a practical understanding of how we can make this system work: we're ensuring that partners and providers across the nation are able to connect with members of Congress to have open discussions about what #MedicareForAll would look like.
Health care costs are skyrocketing and we must act now.

@FamiliesUSA estimates that annually 26,000 adults die due to lack of access to care. In Washington state, one in 10 people report they've delayed necessary care because of its cost. This isn't how it should be.
A system like #MedicareForAll would cut costs. It has been estimated that by simplifying our multi-payer system to a single-payer one, we can save $350 billion each year. And, under M4A, we'd be able to take out the corporate influence that drives prescription drug prices.
These ideas aren’t outlandish—the American people stand with us.

➡️59% of Americans support a national Medicare for All plan and 92% of working-age adults think all Americans should have the right to affordable health care.
Our @USProgressives poll underscored the fact that ideas that we call “progressive” are really supported by the majority of Americans—lower health care costs, the ability to negotiate prescription drug prices and removing pre-existing conditions.

Congress must deliver on this.
No one should be one health care crisis away from bankruptcy. No one should be denied care.

Our #M4ACaucus will fight for this belief and we will continue advocating for #MedicareForAll. We hope you’ll join us. ✊🏾

I’m with @NARAL, @MoveOn, @WomenBelong, @domesticworkers and more. We’re fired up and we’re fighting back against Trump’s cruel, inhumane, unjust family separation policy. #KeepFamiliesTogether
This is about more than immigration, it is about the soul of our country.

Trump’s administration cannot rip that soul away. We won’t let them. We demand just immigration policies. We demand hearings in House Judiciary Committee. We demand justice.
Yesterday, with @repjohnlewis and more @HouseDemocrats colleagues, we created some #GoodTrouble outside of Customs and Border Protection. We marched in the streets, we blocked the entrance and we demanded that they stop tearing apart families and arresting women.

Thank goodness we have so many men in Congress to mansplain our naiveté. Here’s to you, @DarrellIssa.
Here’s what's going on: @HouseJudiciary Republicans want to pass H.R. 4092 to create a vast exploitable labor force of guestworkers.
The bill creates a new temporary worker program, allowing up to 2 million workers in to work for low wages and without labor protections.
