THREAD: How to help #NutriAsia workers — amid brutal PNP attacks, management’s PR offensives, and Mr. Joselito Campos’ arrogant refusal to regularize workers
First, support the #NutriAsia workers’ strike against illegal termination and contractualization.
Second, boycott all #NutriAsia products to send a message that you 1) support workers, 2) denounce lies and violence against them, 3) condemn the company’s betrayal of your trust and patronage.
Ask your family, fave restaurants, canteens, and food outlets to join the boycott.
Third, volunteer to directly help and assist the #NutriAsia workers. Example, they need the ff rn:
1. Lawyers and paralegals — for legal defense against trumped up charges, and to file countercharges vs PNP, NutriAsia
2. Doctors and nurses — to tend to the injured
Fourth, donate for legal and medical aid for #NutriAsia workers. They face concerted and well-funded attacks from a multibillionaire CEO of a multibillion-peso company, and their goons and PNP bayarans.
Give to the Nagkakaisang Manggagawa ng NutriAsia (NMN).
Sixth, expose and denounce what appears to be a joint, coordinated and parallel PR Strat Plan by NutriAsia and PNP. Their plan aims to: 1) demonize, criminalize and dehumanize workers and advocates; 2) justify and blame workers for police brutality; 3) delete issues of the strike
Seventh, contact senators and congresspersons to demand that Congress intervene or investigate #NutriAsia
Eighth, send letters of concern/protest to NutriAsia CEO Joselito Campos. Tell him to repay the trust of consumers and to follow the law by regularizing all #NutriAsia workers and stopping all his company’s violent attacks against them
Email hello@nutriasia.com
Ninth, ask your organization, student council, school, union, employees association, or even your local city/town council to express support for NutriAsia workers’ just demands for regularization and for job security.
Tenth, call DOLE at 025273000 and ask the operator to connect you to the Office of the Secretary. Tell the receptionist that you wish to leave a message for Sec. Bello: “Secretary, please protect and help regularize all workers at NutriAsia.”

When I worked in an agency, it was usual to hear folks to say they’re sick and tired of the daily grind. And that they look for something new to do, something less about self and more about others.
And so they ask or look around for non-profits and advocacy groups to volunteer for. Others form new ones together with their best buds. Amazing acts of kindness and civic duties. Some go to cancer wards. Others go to indigenous peoples.
There was also a time when entire offices were engrossed with relief operations, post-disaster. Complete with marketing 360 efforts to drum up public interest.
Starting October 1, I will compile names and workplaces of those who verbally threaten me or use hate speech against me. I will write their employers, complete with screencaps of their threats, irresponsible and abusive statements.
Depending on the situation, I will inquire with my lawyers if civil or criminal suits could be filed, and demand moral and actual damages.
It might be difficult, but we have to start sometime and somewhere to demand and win accountability. I have thought about this and my previous attempts to fight fire with fire. I figured accountability is our strongest argument vs. threats and hate.
Motorists and commuters sympathize with the United People’s Action. They are outraged by Duterte’s imposition of higher taxes, higher fares and higher fuel prices — issues raised by protesters against the regime.
I used to “edit” other people’s names which I thought were spelled the wrong way. Names with an extra “h” after the first letter, names obviously misspelled.
But as I knew more, met more people, went places, I discovered it was really a bad idea.
We just can’t “edit” names.
I was just doing the editing in my mind. I used to ask “why do they have such misspelled names?”.
I would discover how parents would pick names for their kids. How they add their names, names of fri NDs, their experiences, and other magical stuff until they make a final choice.
I would get to meet friends from other places who find our names rather odd too, even the “properly spelled” ones. I’d be able to get to other places and discover a whole different way of naming people. A different take on spellings.
Reminder: Whether you support the president or not, inflation is real. You’d feel it sa palengke, grocery, pamasahe.
There is no special reduced inflation rate if you’re DDS and refuse to believe.
The “best president in the solar system” owns this “achievement” of causing the highest inflation rate in 9 years. This was caused mainly by the Dutertax TRAIN.
Tapang at malasakit: Tapang ng mukha magpataw ng buwis sa taumbayan, malasakit para sa lalong yumaman na oligarchs.
Dutertenomics mainly benefit the burgesya komprador and malalaking panginoong maylupa:
• Personal income tax cuts under TRAIN
• TRAIN burden passes on to consumers
• Endo pa rin
• No land reform
• Rice cartel and smugglers hayahay
• Corporate income tax cuts under TRAIN2
