1. Dover District Council concerned that M20 plan wont be ready for March “there does not appear to be a ‘Plan B’”

2. DDC: “Major Concern” that queuing lorries around Dover will add to Nitrogen Dioxide pollution

3. Government going to carry out a “national exercise” on the impact of customs checks on outward bound traffic “later in 2018” - local Council wants to be involved

4. important - Council is also the Port Health Authority - last food health inspection “took place in 1992”.. PHA questions if “fully understood” by Government that it has no powers to stop vehicles, “blind” as to what is entering Port, have no facilities or space for inspections

5. Cant be sure where such food controls would occur “Once outside of the EU such [juxtaposed] controls may cease”
- also different for Channel Tunnel & Dover-Calais.
Suggests even in No Deal, deal on Le Touquet and Treaty of Canterbury with Paris required.
Also - not enough vets

For anyone going on about fake news etc - this is an internal report from a Conservative council - wholly corroborated by another report from another conservative council - Kent, which says permanent solution on M20 wont be ready until 2023 “at the earliest”.
