A couple of things to say about these raggedy Black preachers who met with Trump yesterday. They went because they have been trained to think that when the president calls this is God’s favor and expansion of territory. #BadTheology
If they didn’t go for the express theological purpose of telling Trump he’s a fascist and ain’t nothing holy about what he doing, then they went for ego not for Jesus. To not call his ass out is a failure of prophetic ministry. #BadTheology
These dudes think being prophetic is about foretelling the future, when really it’s about demanding from the powerful the conditions to make a better world possible. Those Black preachers failed at their duty to say this and they thereby failed all of us.
And to the Black women who love the likes of John Gray and Paula White and that whole ilk — conservative theology is largely antiBlack and antiwoman and is a natural bedfellow for the white supremacist sexist madness of Trump.
And IDGAF how much money Black Women spend in tithes supporting the ministries of these folks or how big they mega churches are: those folks got in bed with the evil empire yesterday and that is antithetical to the ministry of Christ.
Black women could force a sea change in these raggedy ministries that don’t mean us any good by simply withholding tithes and offerings. That’s a movement that we need to start.
I’m a PK and I believe churches should sustain their ministers but I am tired of this neoliberal basic bad theological BS these pastors are doing. It needs to stop and the Bible says, money answereth all things.
So tighten up on that tithe and see if your Pastor don’t become more progressive, more inclusive, less invested in bad theology and more a person of the people. Bank it.
Pastors have to stop being seduced by the optics of power and stop letting Trump pimp the church to give a holy gloss to the reign of terror he is enacting on everybody non-white. His ass is Pilate, Caesar and Nebuchadnezzar rolled into one.
And clearly God’s people don’t win with these evil types. So ‘stop negotiating with terrorists’ and start ‘setting the oppressed free.’ That was Jesus’ mission statement. Bring us some good news for a change. That’s gospel. And #thatisall

I hear the umps are threatening to boycott Serena’s matches. 1st, boycotts can both ways. So be warned. 2nd, don’t be distracted by this attempt to villainize a Black woman as hurting the game. The sexism & racism of the umps is hurting the game.
If women’s tennis wants to risk its ticket sales and tv ratings by effing with Serena, I invite them to try. But they should be clear that those actions are the textbook definition of structural sexism and racism.
This is how you know it’s racism — these folks are potentially willing to hurt their own bottom line to get a Black Woman in line. Anytime folks will hurt their own pocketbooks to reinforce some hierarchical social order (see #Obamacare), it’s racism!
Nothing infuriates me more than whack white and male supremacist theology like this. Anything that is against intersectionality, critical race theory and feminism is clearly of ‘the devil.’ Like WTF. relevantmagazine.com/god/church/440…
It further annoys me when Black churches and Black pastors be on board with this foolishness. Can’t y’all see that these folks have a theology that is anti-Black fundamentally? And anti-woman too. And of course homophobic and transphobic.
Is it not obvious that these folks have crafted a whole theology that is not about justice but about the maintenance of white dominance? If you’ll look closely you’ll see that there God bears a striking resemblance to any ordinary white supremacist.
