Last summer, this strong young lady was sexually assaulted in a local park.
The crime was prosecuted, and a young man plead "no contest" to sexual assault and abduction. There is a protection order in place, but she is uncomfortable seeing him at school.
Each time she sees him in passing, she misses days of school. When this was brought to the school's attention, the school, again, denied her Title IX claim, claiming that her absences were due to academic stress, rather than her diagnosed PTSD.
Francesca spoke in a city council meeting last week, and begged for help. They responded positively, and sent this letter to the district, asking for clarification on the procedure used when handling Title IX claims.
If you're willing to show your support by signing the attached petition, please do so. I think that it is important for the school to realize that we're all watching this, and rooting for Francesca.
