THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4335: #DonaldTrumpJr. Interview 6 weeks after #TrumpTowerMeeting & 2 Days after #Wikileaks Discloses DNC Hacked Emails • #Nonverbal #DNCHack #EmotionalIntelligence #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #DonaldTrump
1/ This interview took place on 24 July 2016 - on the first day of Democratic National Convention - about six weeks after the Trump Tower meeting - and two days after Wikileak's release of 19,000 hacked DNC emails.
2/ What follows is a partial nonverbal, verbal, and paralanguage analysis of Donald Trump Jr.'s behavior concentrating on the first 95 seconds of this video.
3/ JAKE TAPPER (continuing at 0:08): "So, ahum, I don't know if you were hearing earlier, but ah, Robby Mook (SP?), the campaign manager for Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton - I asked him about the DNC leak and he suggested, ah, that experts are saying that ..."
4/ "... Russians were behind both the, the leak - that, that the hacking, ah, of the DNC emails and their release. He seemed to be suggesting Ω, ah, that this is part of a plot to ∆ - help Donald Trump § and hurt Hillary Clinton ¶. Your response?"
5/ DONALD TRUMP JR: "∂ Well it just goes to show you their exact moral compass. I mean, they'll say anything to be able to win this. I mean, this is time and time again - lie after lie. Ya notice - he won't, 'Well, I say this', 'We hear experts' - ya know - ..."
6/ ".... his house cat at home once said that this is what's happening with the Russians. It's disgusting. It's so phony. I watched him bumble through the interview - I was able to hear it on audio a little bit. I mean, I can't think of bigger lies - ..."
7/ "... but that exactly goes to show you what the DNC and what the Clinton camp will do. They will lie and do anything to win..."
8/ Notice that about one second after Jake Tapper says the word, "Russians", Donald Trump Jr.'s rate of blinking dramatically increases for several seconds (during 0:23 - 0:27).

A sudden increase in blinking frequency (over baseline) is strongly correlated with anxiety.
9/ During 0:26 - 0:27, although he tries to suppress it, Donald Trump Jr. smiles. He simultaneously shakes his head from side-to-side while blushing.
10/ Blushing in the face of a partially suppressed smile is a profound red flag. This is very much an example of classic B-grade acting of pseudo-disgust. It screams guilt and deception.
11/ A person will (subconsciously) shake their head in such a setting because this physical activity will tend to break them out of a facial expression which they know makes them look guilty.
12/ This moment of failed, suppressed smiling is obvious - but let's look again in more detail.
13/ The image above was captured at 0:25, as Jake Tapper was saying, "... the ...". This is a textbook example of a microexpression of Duping Delight.
14/ A microexpression is an extremely brief, but highly significant display of emotion. When you first see this, you may describe it as a "twitch" of Trump Jr.'s left cheek and lip.
15/ But it doesn't stop here. During the early portions of this interview, while Mr. Tapper is asking his question, Trump Jr. displays an entire series of Microexpressions (and near-microexpressions) of duping delight.
16/ Duping delight is the name given to the display of emotion by variations of subtly smiling which are seen when a person is experiencing joy-happiness in their belief that they have fooled you (duped you) in their effort to perpetrate a deception.
17/ These are excellent examples - both of duping delight and microexpressions (and near-microexpressions), so take a moment to watch them several times (for they're impossible to capture in still images).
18/ First, watch with the sound on and at regular speed. Next, mute the sound and watch it at 1/2 and 1/4 speeds. Then watch it again at regular speed with the sound back on. Repeat this cycle a few times and view it a couple times a day for a week and periodically thereafter.
19/ You'll notice your ability to spot microexpressions in real time will be considerably improved.

Of course, not all microexpressions are of the duping delight variety. But virtually all emotions may be manifested in this subtle and fleeting - yet highly significant manner.
20/ Some of these dynamic expressions last slightly longer than what is considered, by strict definition, to be a microexpression - but don't let this temporal technicality diminish the value of these tells.
21/ Donald Trump Jr. commits one of these slightly longer displays - a near-microexpression, during 0:28 as Jake Tapper says, "their release". In this moment he's trying to suppress his smile by clenching his jaw muscles.
22/ Note his jaw is also jutting forward as the muscles on the front portion of his chin contract.
23/ During 0:30, Donald Trump Jr. displays yet another microexpression of suppressed duping delight just after Jake Tapper says the word "suggesting" (notated above by the Ω symbol).
24/ And another jaw-clenching attempt at suppressing his smile occurs during 0:32, just after Tapper says, "this is part of a plot to" (notated by the ∆ symbol). Tapper's words also elicit an extended blink of anxiety.
25/ Again, jaw jutting and muscle contraction and subsequent chin dimpling are displayed.
26/ During 0:33, just after Tapper says, "help Donald Trump", Trump Jr., displays another variety of a microexpression, that of a Forward Lip Purse - indicating a withheld thought and/or clandestine plan ( § symbol).
27/ Just after Tapper says, "and hurt Hillary Clinton" (during 0:35 and noted by the ¶ symbol), still another microexpression of a suppressed smile can be seen. Donald Trump Jr. is also displaying a second, less prominent example of a forward lip purse in this instant.
28/ Just before he answers Tapper (during 0:37 and notated with the ∂ symbol), Trump Jr. exhibits what is known as a Loose Tongue Jut - indicating the thought-emotions of "I've been bad", "I've been caught", "I've done a stupid thing".
29/ Not to be overlooked, is Donald Trump Jr.'s verbal denial - it's melodramatic. He's also only giving his opinions - not citing facts. When examined in isolation, such a hyperbolic response, does not on its own indicate deception - ...
30/ ... but it should, in many cases, raise suspicions. Such a verbal retort is analogous to a chef adding heavy sauce to steak - hoping you won't notice that it's a bit burnt.
31/ Remember, Donald Trump Jr. is not being accused of anything here. This interview took place about six weeks after the Trump Tower meeting - but it would be a year before this, now infamous, rendezvous with the Russians would become public knowledge.
32/ Are we to believe that Trump Jr.'s extreme response to Tapper's question is directed at the Clinton campaign staff? While they were his opponents, the magnitude of Trump Jr.'s words is very much out of context.
33/ SUMMARY: Donald Trump Jr.'s nonverbal, verbal, and paralanguage behaviors displayed in this video, indicate his responses were probably not due to his yet undiscovered Trump Tower meeting -

continued ...
34/ ... but were instead, and with high probability, indications that Donald Trump Jr. had foreknowledge of the Russian's plan to hack the DNC.

1/ THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4450: Trump delivers remarks in Oshkosh, WI — a Red Flag Body Language expression — Nonverbal and Emotional Intelligence #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #EmotionalIntelligence #DonaldTrump #Sociopath #Psychopath
2/ Donald Trump delivered a campaign speech earlier today in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He repeatedly made the expression show in this accompanying still image. Note his central forehead is contracted and elevated while simultaneously displaying a (feigned) mouth smile.
3/ We all make an expression similar to this one *once-in-a-while* when we're feeling:

• Smug Incredulity
• Arrogance
• Contempt

(although all of these thought-emotions have other facial expressions with which they're associated)

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4350: Ashley Kavanaugh during Brett Kavanaugh's Swearing-in Ceremonies for the Supreme Court - #Nonverbal #EmotionalIntelligence #AshleyKavanaugh #BrettKavanuagh #SwearingIn #BodyLanguage #BodyLanguageExpert #LowConfidence #Beta #GetMeOutOfHere
1/ Yesterday, after the closest Senate vote in 137 years, Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court. Ashley Kavanaugh's body language during her husband's swearing-in ceremony is worthy of scrutiny.
2/ Note in the above image, as retired Justice Anthony Kennedy administers the Judicial Oath to Brett Kavanaugh, Ashley Kavanaugh is standing with her left leg crossed in front of her right leg. This nonverbal display indicates a lowered confidence level & a beta emotional tone.

1/ There are many nonverbal signs indicating relative levels of confidence. During last week's hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford exhibited contrasting examples of one such signal.
2/ When a person raises their right hand to be sworn-in before testifying, if their fingers and/or thumb are spread apart - it signals low levels of confidence.

1/ The following is my second analysis of a portion of Brett Kavanaugh's testimony during his hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on 27 September 2018.
2/ JOHN KENNEDY (beginning at 3:45:39): "I’m — I’m sorry, judge, for what you and your family have been through. And I’m sorry - for what Dr. Ford and her family have been through. It could have been avoided [long pause] Do you believe in God?"

THREAD: Body Language Analysis No. 4347: Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings - Part I • #Nonverbal #Emotional #Intelligence #KavanaughHearings #ChristineBlaseyFord #BrettKavanaugh #BodyLanguageExpert #BodyLanguage
1/ In case you hadn't heard, on Wednesday 27 September 2018, both Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
2/ This hearing could supply a year's worth of nonverbal teaching examples and it would close to impossible to analyze the entire event in one session. Thus, what follows is the first of several analyses of this historic exchange.

1/ THREAD: Trump's Press Conference • Pupil Alert • Why are Trump's Pupils So Large?

During President Trump's Press Conference today, his pupils were quite dilated - to as much as 7.0 mm.

Here are his pupils imaged at the 31:49 mark in this video:
2/ On other days in similar light conditions, they are within normal limits (e.g., 3.0 mm).

The intermittent and yet extreme nature of Trump's pupillary dilation is profound. From a medical standpoint, this is NOT normal.
3/ This intermittent pattern is NOT due to trauma, complications from surgery, or disease.
