Ever wondered why is it that we worship Lord Ganesh first! According to the Ganapati Upanishad, he appeared even before the creation of nature (prakriti) and consciousness (purusha). This is an important link as to why he's is worshiped before beginning any task.
#LordGanesh
According to the yogic perspective, anything we do has to fall under one of the two categories: material or spiritual. It's believed that Lord Ganesh rules the 'muladhara chakra' of our body. 'Muladhara' is the interface between the material and the spiritual worlds.
#LordGanesh
He controls both these worlds. He gives us material enjoyments in this world and liberates us from endless cycle of birth and death. According to yogic principles, our material life and spiritual journey starts from the 'Muladhara' chakra which is controlled by him.

Sharing some interesting facts about Lord Ganesh that you may not know.
The head of Lord Ganesh symbolizes the aatma or soul, which is considered the ultimate reality of humanity and his human body symbolizes Maya, the trappings of earthly existence.
#LordGanesh
Gana’ means category. Everything we perceive through our senses or mind can be expressed in terms of category. The principle from which all these have manifested themselves is Ganapati, the Lord of categories. In effect, it means origin of whole creation, God Himself.
#LordGanesh
Sanskrit word to denote elephant is ‘Gaja’.Hence the name Gajanana or Gajamukha for Ganapati. But the word ‘Gaja’ has a deeper connotation. ‘Ga’ indicates ‘Gati’, the final goal towards which the entire creation is moving. ‘Ja’ stands for ‘Janma’ or birth or origin.
#LordGanesh
Hence ‘Gaja’ signifies God from whom the worlds have come out and towards whom they are progressing, to be ultimately dissolved in Him. The elephant head is thus purely symbolical and points to this truth.
#LordGanesh
The elephant-human form of Ganapati is iconographical representation of great Vedantic dictum, ‘tat-tvam-asi'(which means you the apparently limited individual are in essence the Cosmic Truth, the Absolute).Elephant stands for the cosmic, human stands for individual.
#LordGanesh
It's believed that sage Vyasa requested Lord Ganesh to write Mahabharata as he recited it. He decided to do it after Vyasa agreed to recite it without any interruptions and Vyasa, in turn, made him promise he would understand what was being said before he wrote it.
#LordGanesh
His popularity isn’t restricted to Hinduism. He appears as Buddhist God Vinayaka in Mahayana Buddhism too and is often seen dancing. He has distinct regional characteristics in Tibet, China,Japan.Earliest stone statue of Elephant God in China dates back to as AD 531.

#LordGanesh
According to scriptures, Lord Ganesh had two wives Ridhhi (representing Prosperity) and Sidhhi (representing Intellectual Enlightenment). He had two sons – Ridhhi bore him Shubha (representing Auspiciousness) while Sidhhi bore him Labha (representing Profit)
#LordGanesh
As per Shivpuran, it was Parvati’s friends decision to make Lord Ganesh. They suggested to Parvati that Nandi and others follow instructions of Lord Shiva only. So, there should be someone who follows Parvati’s orders too.😅 Hence she made Ganesh from scrub of her body

#S400Deal #S400_डिफेंस_डील
S-400 - Highlights and the deal:
This’s an air defence system being procured by Indian Air Force from Russia in a Govt to Govt deal, like Rafale.
Deal size $5.4 billion i.e ₹40,000 crores; the biggest ever defence deal by India.
The S-400 Surface-to-Air missile can destroy targets (whether static or enemy’s missile/fighter jets) even 400 Km away.
Its radars can track flying objects from a distance of 1000 Km; even if the size of a football; means entire Pakistan under its detection range.
It’s Russia’s most advanced defence system. (inducted in 2007) better than America’s ‘Patriot’ or anything else in the world. Its killing speed is 5 km/sec; and the best thing about it is it can easily be transported anywhere, including war field, and can be deployed in 5m flat.

#AncientCitiesOfIndia
UJJAIN
It is an ancient and historical city that is 5000 years old. It is famous for spiritual as well as scientific reasons. It is described as the best city in Adi Brahma Puran and it is called mokshda and bhukti-mukti in Agni Puran and Garuda Puran.
There was a time when this city had been a capital of a big empire. It has a glorious history. As per religious books this city has never seen destruction, for God of destruction Mahakaal himself resides here. It has a Jyotirling out of the 12, 2 Shakti Peeths, the Sacred Kumbh.
As per Garuda Puran there are 7 cities that can provide salvation but importance of Ujjain is a little more. It's believed that it has foot prints of Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama himself performed his father’s last rites after his death at Ujjain. That place is called ‘Ram Ghat’.

#SabarimalaVerdict
There's no uproar about admitting all women at all times into Sabarimala. People have taken it with great equanimity and dry humour that has so characterised Hindu culture for millennia now. Already memes and jokes have started doing the rounds on WhatsApp.
People of my generation feel depressed, anguished. People with political axes to grind are expressing rage or glee depending on their affiliations. Older generation like those of my parents feel that the Lord knows what is best and acts through human agencies or through Nature.
The biggest circus, the electronic media, is stirring up such a cockfight. People who have no stake in the issue except political, act up with anchors playing ringmasters and get paid for their appearance.

Since late 80s issue of corruption has been discussed in every living room, in trains amongst co passengers, in schools, colleges, as a fav topic of debate, discussion; Is Corruption a bigger menace than terrorism or Is corruption making the country hollow!
We discussed every form of corruption endlessly, quoting examples, as if it was all pervading ; as to how money is being hoarded under beds, almirahs, how traders are avoiding sales tax, how inter state borders where excise people collect taxes are a big source of corruption.
How hardly 2% population is paying taxes and rest generating black money, how builders are minting money and flouting rules, diverting money from one project to another and fooling the customers, how some having black money are buying BENAMI properties.
