My personal view on this - a Scrum Master is supposed to be a change agent. I am there to help everyone change the system of work so that it helps meet their needs.
This goes far beyond the "process" as such, and leads to better overall results.
I find it that the points of leverage on the system aa described by Donnella Meadows are a really helpful in understanding this.
As long as we're only in the "cybernetic leverage" part, the results will be similar to mechanical Scrum. Not far from where the system started.
So, which points of leverage are you using already? Which can help the system you're working with? What is the system you are working on changing? Is it your Team, your Organization, maybe something else?
