also, #FF@cnn94cnn who has done a great job documenting Zito's very suspicious journalism + her numerous false claims
Meet Greg, a small businessman described in suspiciously extensive detail. Greg would rather not give his last name. realclearpolitics.com/articles/2016/…
Greg's views on the state of the Republican party are virtually identical to those of strategist Brad Todd, who just so happens to be Zito's co-author.
Greg uses a strange word: "stagery." He must be a fan.
Meet Mark, rendered here in florid detail. Alas, the one detail that matters to those attempting to replicate Zito's journalism - a last name - remains elusive. triblive.com/opinion/salena…
Mark is, naturally, an articulate and astute ex-Democrat who speaks in carefully "crafted" sentences.
Mark also uses an unusual phrase: "divisional politics."
Coincidentally, "divisional politics" happens to be another of Zito's favorite terms.
It's also fairly unique. If you google the phrase, two Salena Zito articles appear on the first page of results (neither of which is the article about "Mark").
Does this establish that "Mark" is a fictional character? No it doesn't. But it strongly suggests that the words attributed to him were not his. And once we draw that conclusion, the burden of proof must shift to @SalenaZito and her editors.
h/t to @cnn94cnn for introducing us to "Derek" who, if real, is a living embodiment of the <hashtag>Walk Away</hashtag> campaign. What a shame he's too frightened to give his full name.
Derek is useful in a number of ways. He gives terrific quotes that bolster Zito's thesis about Trump's policies delivering tangible benefits to the black community.
Derek is also doing his part to reintroduce the word "conniption" into the vernacular. It's one of Salena's favorites, and she hopes more people will start using it.
striking to read these gas station vignettes side-by-side
beat for beat, it's the same story: working class Americans listen to the news, refute the liberal party line in a loud, folksy way, then drive off with bumper sticker proof of their former party allegiance
lmao
randomly seeing people removing their Obama-Biden bumper stickers is a normal thing in Real America
incredible: on two separate occasions, a person with a coexist bumper sticker almost killed her and then gave her the finger
"overheard" is another great Zito genre
which one's your favorite? i'm going with the #teens chatting about the national debt triggering a zombie apocalypse.

Takeaway on the mainstream conservative right seems to be
1) Both witnesses seemed credible, with exceptions (fear of flying, inconsistent accounts of party attendees, evasiveness about blacking out, yearbook).
2) Democrats played dirty and they can't be allowed to win.
and...
3) The mostly unspoken fear that further investigation of Dr. Ford's claims would likely kill the nomination.
Moving forward on a vote seems to be a short-sighted political calculation that will have long-lasting effects for the GOP.
Mark Judge *will* testify before Congress. But he will likely do so before a Democrat-controlled committee next year, with Justice Kavanaugh seated at the Supreme Court.
