Two points about healthcare in #CA01 -- First point: When it comes to cost, two thirds of bankruptcies in our country are related to a medical crisis. I was almost one of them. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (2/8)

When I took a leave of absence from my job as an educator to run for Congress in #CA01 & campaign full-time, my employer convinced me to continue health insurance via COBRA. I’m grateful they did. No one should go bankrupt because of health issues. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (3/8)

Second point: Specifically in our rural #CA01 Northern California region, we are medically underserved & people are often forced to drive hours to see a specialist. I ended up having my surgery in Oregon. And this isn’t just limited to specialists. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (4/8)

In two counties in our #CA01 district, women can't even deliver their babies in hospitals because our healthcare facilities are underfunded & understaffed. This leaves me with one question... bit.ly/2NgG3CH (5/8)

What has our #CA01 Congressional Representative Doug LaMalfa done to help fix our healthcare crisis? Nothing. He has voted repeatedly to take away our healthcare, while also voting to cut taxes for himself and his wealthy donors. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (6/8)

In 2015, #CA01 Representative Doug LaMalfa voted to restrict women's access to life-saving health services, and in 2017, he voted to allow insurance companies to charge women higher rates than men. These are just two examples, but the list is long. bit.ly/2NgG3CH (7/8)
