Not being a Catholic, I chime in: Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò accuses Pope of something he’s guilty of and fails to address being essentially demoted. Why did Viganò interfere in an investigation himself? Something stinks in his accusation...
2/ Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò has a series of “controversies” that give me pause on his accusations including arranging a meeting between Pope and Kim Davis, the clerk who refused to follow the law and give out marriage license to gay couple.
3/ Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò suppressed an investigation in the St Paul and Minnesota Archdiocese in 2014 but now points finger at Pope?
4/ Viganò has a noted history of taking up personal battles in top ranks. As an outsider I have seen him as a person who seeks to push an agenda associated with conservative vs liberal policies ( like the setup to have Kim Davis meet Pope )
5/ though the church has much to answer for in abuse scandals, there is a noted push associated with Steve Bannon and others to remove Pope Francis and everyone would be wise to keep an eye on his efforts to topple this Pontiff in particular.
7/ Bannon has been coordinating with several extremist leaders in the Catholic Church to retaliate against Francis for more liberal policies washingtonpost.com/opinions/steve…
If the former Vatican ambassador to the US was concerned about abuses, why quash an investigation into St Paul/Minneapolis? nytimes.com/2016/07/21/us/…
Last/ I welcome thoughts on this as an outsider. I have no religion and no political party (Thank God) but know these battles are evergreen and destructive to more than just the church and it’s followers.
Addendum: @HISTORY channel is pathetic. They are running a pseudo history piece called the Last Pope that is pure historical garbage. #basta

As @MalcolmNance just discussed with @AliVelshi on @MSNBC : Trump ignorantly reinforced white supremacist garbage about "white genocide" in South Africa in contempt of the facts. Over 93% of the land was being held by 8% of the population due to apartheid.
Despite the predictions before the end of Apartheid, Nelson Mandela was adamant that peaceful reconciliation was the only viable path. Massive bloodshed was averted through careful and thoughtful engagement.
As land is one of the most important sources of a people's wealth, when it was stolen at gunpoint and held under racist regime power the majority were displaced and disempowered. Land redistribution is a continued process to recover from apartheid's destruction.
1/ Oh @AriMelber interviewed a fascist and the world came to an end! The reaction to this interview shows why many people are unable to effectively confront fascism. Many reactions are the very definition of ignorance.
2/ I can’t stand Bannon, Stone, and countless others but most often grin and bear it to see if they said anything that will help end their campaigns of disaster
3/ For the past several years I have watched almost every ISIS video, some of the most repugnant footage of humanity and I have to listen to long drawn out pontifications from pure scumbags. This is how you find the keys to their destruction
Adm McRaven calls out Trump: "Therefore, I would consider it an honor if you would revoke my security clearance as well, so I can add my name to the list of men and women who have spoken up against your presidency." #Honor#Integrity#Dignity washingtonpost.com/opinions/revok…
Adm McRaven: "Like most Americans, I had hoped that when you became president, you would rise to the occasion and become the leader this great nation needs."

Adm. McRaven: "A good leader tries to embody the best qualities of his or her organization. A good leader sets the example for others to follow. A good leader always puts the welfare of others before himself or herself."

Ask yourself, why is there a deep desire for elimination of the "deep state"?
What is this "deep state"? 1. Many agencies have officials and workers who transcend partisan shifts. 2. These officials and workers represent vital #InstitutionalMemory that keeps people safe
3. These officials/workers cooperate with govt agencies and private sector to keep the fabric of our govt stable during crisis including terrorist attacks, economic meltdowns, and national disasters 4. Former presidents stay in touch with successors to share experience and wisdom
5. Ask yourself, who benefits when a country starts to purge it's #InstitutionalMemory? 6. Who wants to see lifelong knowledge cut away and silenced? 7. Who wants to hinder US intelligence and law enforcement agencies from upholding their commitments to the nation and allies?
But Chris why are you calling out Tulsi Gabbard? Well, I’ll tell you:
She has taken a ridiculous conspiracy theory on that betrays her oath of office.
1. She blames the US for funding both Al Qaida and ISIS and not by claiming the Iraq war led to ISIS by circumstances.
2. Gabbard betrayal of non-terrorist Syrian forces who are now left on the battlefield between Assad and ISIS/AQ is going to have consequences because they’ve been abandoned after fighting both.
3. Gabbard directly engages in disinformation on the topic of Syria because she was personally fed the line by Assad and failed to question the veracity of these claims. She then accused US intelligence of funding the very adversaries they’re tasked to combat. #betrayal
