This is a thread on the repealed #Ontario health & education curriculum. Let’s start with the most important point. IT IS NOT SEX ED. The curriculum is HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION. @fordnation uses hot button terms like #SexEd to fire up religious extremists
Before you make any comments regarding the content of the curriculum...read it: …consentcultureorg.files.wordpress.com/2018/06/health…
Since so many critics of the updated curriculum are aghast at the disgusting content to be taught to our innocent lil munchkins starting at the tender age of 5, this thread focuses only on gr 1-3
Ok here we go. Warning ⚠️ some content may not be suitable for all tweeters. By the end of GRADE 1 students will: identify body parts, including genitalia (e.g., penis, testicles, vagina, vulva), using correct terminology pg 95.
Teacher prompt: “We talk about all body parts with respect. Why is it important to know about your own body, and use correct names for the parts of your body?” Student: “All parts of my body are a part of me, and I need to know how to take care of and talk about my own body.
If I’m hurt or need help, and I know the right words, other people will know what I’m talking about.” Pg 96
Phew! Hope everyone could handle that!! Ok on to GRADE 2: Outline the basic stages of human development (e.g., infant, child, adolescent, adult, older adult) and related bodily changes, and identify factors that are important for healthy growth and living throughout life pg 110
Personal Safety and Injury Prevention. Explain the importance of standing up for themselves, and demonstrate the ability to apply behaviours that enhance their personal safety in threatening situations (e.g., speaking confidently; stating boundaries; saying no...
... respecting the right of a person to say no and encouraging others to respect that right also; reporting exploitive behaviours, such as improper touching of their bodies or others’ bodies) pg 111
And now onto GRADE 3, hope you can handle cause it’s getting hot in hurrr! Human Development and Sexual Health. Identify the characteristics of healthy relationships (e.g. accepting differences, being inclusive, communicating openly, listening, showing mutual respect and caring..
... being honest) and describe ways of overcoming challenges (e.g., bullying, exclusion, peer pressure, abuse) in a relationship. Pg 123
Describe how visible differences (e.g., skin, hair, and eye colour, facial features, body size and shape, physical aids or different physical abilities, clothing, possessions) and invisible differences (e.g., learning abilities, skills and talents, personal or cultural values and
beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, family background, personal preferences, allergies and sensitivities) make each person unique, and identify ways of showing respect for differences in others. Pg 126
AND SCENE!! I hope everyone was able to handle the content. Stay tuned for grade 4-6 where I will be asking for proof of age before you can read the content 18+ only! #ONpoli #education #consent #diversity #sexualhealth #mentalhealth #ontarioteachers
