The big #wisen story this week: "There may be no US Senate race with a starker contrast on health care than in Wisconsin"
So what exactly does that mean? madison.com/wsj/news/local…
1-Affordable Care Act #wisen @tammybaldwin wants to protect our care. She led the popular pre-ex condition and age 26 reforms in the ACA. @leahvukmir would repeal the ACA, ripping health care away from millions, gutting pre-ex condition protections and raising costs for all.
2-Pre-existing conditions #wisen @tammybaldwin is leading the effort to keep the protections people have. @leahvukmir wants to go backwards & throw people into expensive high-risk pools that left half a million in WI uninsured, had lifetime caps & a 6-month waiting period. Yikes.
3-Insurance Companies #wisen @tammybaldwin is standing up to insurance companies, requiring them to cover maternity & emergency care. @leahvukmir would do insurance companies' bidding, end essential health benefits requirements & refused to say if she opposes lifetime caps.
4-Medicaid #wisen @tammybaldwin has worked to protect Medicaid, which covers 3-in-5 WI nursing home residents. @leahvukmir has backed Medicaid cuts of over $800 billion.
5-Prescription Drugs #wisen @tammybaldwin stood up to big pharma and introduced bipartisan transparency refoms and legislation to have Medicare negotiate drug prices. @leahvukmir doesn't want Medicare to negotiate lower Rx prices for seniors, even though Trump agrees with Tammy.
