something @srahrman just said that really really resonates with me:

once again, democrats put their trust in police and law enforcement to ensure justice. they thought the FBI would come through to defeat a powerful man and vindicate a woman. despite all evidence to the fucking contrary.

the minute we had to rely on the FBI to defeat kavanaugh, we were screwed. and i wish we could remember that on the left. law enforcement exists to protect the powerful. between justice and status quo, they virtually always choose the latter.
